Finis Africae Country House

I must premise that unfortunately the quality of the photos is not the best and they do not capture all the filth we found. Stay from August 20 to 23 at the Hotel Finis Africae in Senigallia, in an external Deluxe room. An experience that was unfortunately very disappointing and, in our opinion, not up to the standard of a 4-star establishment. The room was handed over to us in a very poor state of cleanliness, with accumulated dust, cobwebs, cockroaches, spiders, grasshoppers, and other insects: in several corners, especially along the baseboards, there were accumulations and actual insect nests. We reported the problem from the very first day, repeatedly asking for a thorough cleaning or a room change. Although we were told that the room had been cleaned, the situation never changed, and they were just making fun of us. Even more unpleasant was the way in which, on some occasions, our reports were received, with ironic and minimizing responses, such as: "Even in luxury hotels, cockroaches fall on your face," "We have geckos in our house too," and, even more surprisingly, that sleeping is not the main service offered by a hotel. The situation reached the point where one night we had to sleep in a friend's room, making do on two massage mattresses because they lacked extra beds or cots, as we did not consider our room livable and no alternatives were available. Only after further and strong protests, and after expressing our intention to contact the competent authorities, did we finally obtain a cleaning intervention. Unfortunately, this was not a problem limited to our room: the rooms of our friends and neighbors also had cleanliness issues. More generally, the entire property and the outdoor areas appeared poorly cared for and poorly maintained, with superficial cleaning in some areas and an obvious lack of maintenance. And it is a real shame, because the property, the outdoor areas, and the pool would have, if properly cared for, significant potential. Personally, I would not return and I would not feel comfortable recommending it. From a Deluxe room and a 4-star property, we expected decidedly different standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and customer care. (The photos don't show how disgusting it actually is)

Nightmare experience: ABSOLUTELY AVOID If I could give zero stars, I would do it without hesitation. The stay at this property was a complete disaster from the first to the last minute. Nonexistent hygiene and cleanliness: The room was in unacceptable hygienic conditions. Dust everywhere and if that weren't enough, we found insects both on the floor and near the bed. A truly disgusting situation. Chaos and disorganization: The management is totally incompetent We asked for a room change, infinite waiting times and the staff showed themselves to be unprepared, rude and completely indifferent to our reports. No one took responsibility for the room's deterioration. A service like this shouldn't even be open to the public. Stay away if you don't want to ruin your vacation.

Truly terrible weekend. Our friends had to sleep in a room in unacceptable hygienic conditions: dirty, full of dust, and with the presence of numerous insects and animals, including millipedes, cockroaches, and bed bugs. The most serious thing was the total absence of a solution. Despite the numerous reports made to the reception, no one ever intervened to clean the room properly or propose an alternative. Furthermore, the reception staff provided us with different and unclear answers. Each time we were told that they could do nothing but submit a report via email. From a hotel establishment, one expects at least cleanliness, assistance, and attention toward guests. Unfortunately, in this case, all three were missing. Decidedly negative experience.
