Lido Palace Hotel Baveno

We were walking from Baveno to Stressa & went up to have a look at this Grand old Hotel- boy is it grand. I would much rather stay in a Hotel like this & put up with it's idiosyncrasies than staying in a modern bog standard characterless grey Hotel. The Staff were so polite. Beautiful grounds & amazing views. Next time.

The Lido Palace Hotel is a gem, we just spent there the most amazing weekend ever. Belle epoque vibe, beautiful and elegant spaces, delicious breakfast - served in a fantastic conservatory with views on the lake and the Isole Borromee, extremely kind staff (they were always super helpful and accommodating, even helping us finding and booking restaurants on the 15th August, the busiest day of the year there, and cooking special pasta for my 1y old niece). We just can't wait to find another opportunity to go back.

This must have been a grand property several years ago, but now it is extremely dated. Great views over the lake but the rooms was quite disappointing (paper thin walls and not super clean). The hotel is in a good location near the town but very uncomfortable, hence I would not stay here again. Swimming pool is very cold (and deep) and much smaller than the pictures.
