I had dinner and drinks at Hotel Ancora and I can confirm that the property is simply splendid. Its very central location, exactly along the main street of the town, makes this historic hotel the absolute point of reference in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Our evening began with a signature aperitif and concluded with a superb dinner. The quality of the raw materials is extremely high; every single product is selected with obvious care. The prices are certainly in line with the property's positioning—so a bit high—but they are completely justified by the excellence of the experience and impeccable service. The waiters in the dining room proved to be extremely courteous, attentive, and fast, but the real gem of the evening was the bartender, Marco. His professionalism is extraordinary: his Martini cocktails are masterpieces of balance, prepared to perfection. What particularly struck me was a moment during the evening when we found ourselves chatting about spirits and Cognac. With a helpfulness and passion from another era, Marco wanted to show me in person a legendary bottle of Louis XIII, a very rare and extremely expensive piece. He explained with great expertise the history, the incredible aging, and the reasons for the immense value of that spirit, giving me the chance to admire the bottle and its wonderful crystal up close. A moment of true drinking culture that made the evening memorable. The subsequent dinner maintained the same very high standard: the beef fillet was like butter, cooked with millimetric precision. To finish on a high note, the final petit fours were delicious, fresh, and refined. I will definitely return to this gem, but next time it won't just be for dinner: we will stay here with the whole family to fully enjoy the hotel's hospitality. Highly recommended!

An aperitif in the heart of Corso Italia in Cortina; prices are in line with the service offered, which are certainly not affordable for everyone, but if you consider that with the ordered drink they brought us a trio of dry snacks and some "treats" from the kitchen, the price is more than justified. Special mention for the mustachioed bartender, whose name I unfortunately did not have the chance to ask, who made us 4 excellent drinks at the bar, 2 of which were special with fresh fruit. He conveyed to us the passion that drives him to do this job with an extensive explanation of the reason why there are so many different types of whiskey, and I did not imagine it could be because of American Prohibition. But in any case, the entire staff deserves praise for what they do. Gregorio

This hotel is a gem. The hotel itself is gorgeous and in a perfect location. The entire staff is top notch and go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. Federico, Genaro, Clara and many other staff member made our stay extremely special and we can’t wait to return. As someone who travels frequently, I would highly recommend this hotel.
