Terrible experience !!! We returned after 2 years and everything has changed !!! Food and dishes from a nightmare restaurant. For a very high cost, without quality and the basics of cooking !!! I consider your service a theft. I have never eaten worse !!!! Never again

Great tasting experience! Lovely place, much appreciated the indoor dining room without tablecloths, with beautiful tables in polished stone finish: feeling of cleanliness and lightness instead of the usual stale environment (and then we are not in the era of climate friendly? Tons less things to wash). Beautiful and modern also the cutlery in matt finish (who in reviews said “oxidized by use” perhaps did not understand so well). Impeccable Service, very good dishes and with a very accurate presentation. Out of curiosity I wanted to try the menu “Neither meat nor fish”, although I love them both, to see what and how they would propose me. I was absolutely surprised in positive for the combinations and achievements.As well as for the wines. For those who complain about the price, I would say that you are not considering that it is not a trattoria (moreover we are on an island where everything arrives by boat and I do not know if you know the cost of fuel) and we are talking about a context in which a generic bar or a piadineria offers its basic products at about nine euros (in my house the same would have cost half); the business has opening times dictated by the seasonal closures of the Borromean Islands and navigation attached, while the maintenance charges of similar locations are high and continuous ... In short, if you do not like you can go to a pizzeria🫢

Isola Pescatori is located just outside Stresa and Baveno and is the smallest of the islands there. This is the only island that does not belong to the Borromeo family. It is more authentic and quieter even though tourism has so definitely taken over the old fishing community. In the south end of the island is Albergo&Ristorante Il Verbano. The review applies to both, it is one place. The small hotel has only 12 rooms, so here you really feel like home. We stayed there 1 night and got room 14 Campanula, on the top floor with rooms facing the lake in the northeast. Nice room with carnapp windows, very good bed, nice bathroom with nice shower. Beautiful views to the mountains, lake and islands Isola Madre and Isola Bella. Great terrace where they served lunch with lovely views towards Isola Bella. Breakfast room with the same view as the room, and the food there was delicately arranged and lovely. See photos. The dinner restaurant is in the upper layer both in quality and price. The only downside is that there were few others there, which is probably due both to the price level and that it was a Sunday morning in October. They have 4 menus with each their own theme and 6 dishes each, but you still choose completely freely. We selected from 2 different menus and 4 dishes each, with wine packages. See photos of all the dishes. It was a culinary experience! If you have something to celebrate and want a quiet place with atmosphere, beautiful views and exquisite food, this is the right place!
