We stayed at the hotel June 2017. SERVICE To begin with we booked the hotel online at booking.com. After we reserved we have found out that we can check in only from 9am-1pm and from 6 pm until 9 pm. When we called to the hotel to ask about this issue, they replied if you don’t like it you can cancel. But, we could not find 1 day before departure another hotel, so we did not cancel. We hoped that we could leave the luggage on a safe locker in the hotel and go to eat. So, we came to the hotel at 2:30 pm and could not check into our room, which they of course charged us for. We had to wait nearly 4 hours before we could finally get in. There was no space to leave the luggage so that we could go out to eat and enjoy. We had to stay beside our luggage the entire 4hours. ROOM One we entered the room, it was nice and clean. However, the room was hot like hell (no ac). If you want to get a good night sleep forget it. It is hot and even though you open a window you would not get cooled, plus get ready for the mosquitos. The small fridge was not working. Hence, forget about a nice cool drink in the hell you are planning to stay at. And on the 5th day of our stay at the hotel we had no water for almost the entire day. So, if you plan to take a shower after the beach, forget it. Plan on having a nice fresh towels every day like in all hotels? Forget it. You may get clean towels every 3-4 day for extra charge of 8 Euro and you must ask for it specifically. Great hmm ? FOOD Breakfast was kind of ok, every day the same. But, since the 3rd day they served sink water instead of bottled water which was disturbing. Furthermore, DO NOT EAT in the hotel restaurant Spagetteria. It was a disaster. They only serve like 5 dishes and the sauce on top was like cat food from a can. All guests around us were equally disappointed. We ate there once and that was it, never again. The food was terrible and way overpriced. We wanted to leave no tip, but the bill already came with a 10% tip. Guess why… because nobody would ever leave a penny. The restaurant tried to desperately get attention by leaving fliers all over the parking lot making a huge mess, which was really terrible and quite environmentally not friendly, since they did not clean the mess, not even once. BEACH and LOCATION The beach was nice, although quite overcrowded. It was about 10 min by walk from the villa which was ok and expected. The hotel is placed out of the city so you have quiet, kind off, but you need to walk a lot to get into the city where the nice restaurants and supermarkets are. PRICE We got the hotel last minute at a discounted price which was still not cheap. However, the original price was 130 per night which is totally not worth it, for all the reasons above. I think I mentioned all. It is up to you to decide if you want to spend your time here. What pissed me most was the small fridge which was broken and we had no cool water. If you want nice hotel go to their competition which is next door. Hotel Oasis seemed nice. Have a nice stay in Alghero :)

This hotel is in a nice building and space, it's a bit out of town which is fine if you have a car. The lobby is limited hours for check in (until 1pm and then 6pm to 9pm). The breakfast is good. It has only a few guest rooms that is good as well, but biggest issue is with the beds. They are not very comfortable and the rooms get quite warm so it is tough to get a good night's sleep. Overall, I would not stay here again.

I've been staying at Hotel Villa Maria Pia   Address: Viale Salvatore Burruni, 1, 07041 Alghero SS, Italy Phone:+39 079 951474 We've stayed one week at this hotel which was pretty good. Breakfast was always the same for the entire period, and in the afternoon the reception and all the offices were closed. Other than that everything else was fine, towels changed daily, the staff was very attentive.
