From 07/18/2026 to 07/27/2026 I had a stay in Budoni organized by VALTUR at the hotel VILLAGGIO BAIA DEI PINI. VALTUR: Excellent organization, excellent on-site assistance (used for medical problems). HOTEL: Good location (200m from the sea) with free lounge chairs and umbrella, but sometimes insufficient. Family-friendly hotel Professional, kind, and collaborative staff with the exception of the chef (see below). Well-maintained and clean rooms, sufficiently spacious and equipped. Hotel services and bar are good. Pool is a bit shallow, only in the center does it exceed 1.2m and it is quite small for the number of guests. "Restaurant: a note of merit for the quality and variety of the food, with excellent appetizers (in particular the fish tartare), first courses, second courses, and desserts that were overall good. A negative note, however, for the management of the buffet towards the end of service: arriving in the last part of the opening window, the choice was decidedly reduced, as the staff began to tidy up and clean the counters before the end of the scheduled time. A sore point for the restaurant dining room: for the first few days of the week, the air conditioning was not working, making the environment very hot and uncomfortable during meals. Outside, we noticed some air conditioning units with cut pipes and obvious signs of oxidation. Fortunately, halfway through our stay, new units were installed that finally made the temperature acceptable. The most critical details concern the management of food allergies and intolerances. My wife is lactose intolerant. Despite the presence of labels indicating allergens above the dishes, we sometimes found little accuracy. Specifically, when a first course (lasagna) was served that lacked the lactose indication, I pointed it out to the dining room staff so that the allergen card could be verified and possibly updated. Subsequently, noticing that the label had been repositioned without any changes or clarification, my wife asked the staff and the chef present at the counter for an explanation. The response received from the chef was not professional in our opinion: instead of providing reassurances about the ingredients used (for example, the possible use of lactose-free products), the reaction was dismissive, essentially inviting us to choose another hotel facility suitable for our issues. I believe that more attention and empathy are needed regarding the protection of customers' health. For this reason, we will not return to this facility. I probably should have gone to the Manager to inform him of the chef's unprofessional attitude because you cannot put the health and safety of customers at risk, but I let it go since it was the last day of our stay and we had to pack our bags.

Second time at Baia dei Pini after a few years: it confirms itself as a positive choice! The rooms are not very large, but you are still comfortable, the patio or small outdoor balcony with a small table and drying rack is convenient. The third bed in the triple room and the bunk bed in the quadruple room turn out to be small for teenagers. I had read in previous reviews the advice to opt for connecting double rooms ...and indeed I agree! Good and varied restaurant: despite always arriving half an hour before closing, we always found the buffet stocked (with the exception sometimes of some desserts, but there were still alternatives to choose from). The presence of multiple stations avoids the formation of long lines despite the crowding in the dining room. Another thing I appreciated, even if we don't have food intolerances and therefore I didn't "test" it directly, is the area dedicated exclusively to celiacs: unfortunately, there isn't always this attention to contamination in resorts, so it's definitely a plus! Waiters are fast, discreet but always kind and helpful. The all-inclusive package satisfied me: it is true that many fried foods are offered, but right next to them there was always an offer of several types of fruit and ice cream (every day, at least 2-3 flavors), in addition to lemon sorbet and coffee cream (the latter 2 not exactly of excellent taste, but acceptable for a resort!). The only advice I would give is to reduce plastic consumption: reusable or compostable cups, for example, would suffice. The center of Budoni can be easily reached on foot in about 15 minutes: I recommend taking a walk there at least once in the evening, when there is a pedestrian area with stalls and small shops. But let's get to the negative aspect that kept me from giving 5 stars: the beach service... it is non-existent!!! I knew, from the catalog, that there would be no bar on the beach and for us this was not a problem (in a few minutes you can return to the pool bar), just as we knew about the limited availability of sun loungers (actually, luckily we always found a spot, both in the morning and in the afternoon). The main problem, in my opinion, is that they just open and close the umbrellas and reposition the sun loungers, without ever cleaning them or raking the sand. Given that it is uncivilized to throw cigarettes and trash on the ground, however, this is the first time that I have happened to find dozens of cigarette butts and scraps of paper between umbrellas on a private beach! It seems absurd to me that we guests were the ones to pick up the trash to avoid stepping on it or having small children eat it! Furthermore, I find the possibility of accessing canoes and SUPs only from the age of 16 too limiting. Luckily these "limitations" of the beach are compensated by the surrounding beauty: crystal clear sea (obviously there is posidonia here too, but it is normal in Sardinia), ponds and pine forest where you can walk, and small coves for snorkeling a short distance away.

last week of August: As soon as we arrived at the desk for check-in, payment of a 70 euro fee was requested to use the beach loungers, sea loungers, and various sports fields. Payment of the tourist tax. Beach towel rental is offered for those who want it (very convenient). Kind staff. The room assigned to us had some issues, which were reported immediately to the desk; they were resolved correctly and we had no further problems (although it is disappointing to have to waste time on things that are so obvious that they should be reported by the assigned staff, without the customer having to point out the problem). The room was furnished in a simple but comfortable way. Excellent cleanliness. One aspect that we really appreciated is that the room was made up in the morning, so upon our return after lunch, the rooms were already ready. The bath towels and bed sheets were always soft and clean. In our opinion, the restaurant was truly a surprise, meaning we always ate very well with quality products, fresh grilled fish or cooked in other ways, meat also grilled, and 3 pasta dishes to choose from that were really good, with an infinite variety of appetizers and pizza baked every day. One thing we appreciated compared to many resorts is the use of bottled water (two per table) and not the usual carafe of water. All the dining room staff, the chef, Mr. Giuliano at the grill made us have an excellent week in terms of politeness, friendliness, and professionalism. Excellent cleaning of the dishes and the restaurant. Bar: the staff is always kind and helpful; juices, water, limoncello and myrtle liqueur, beer, and coffee service are available. (I would expand the snack section a little bit). Pool never used, considering the wonderful sea. Sea: unfortunately, sun loungers are not always available for all guests and this creates discontent, because obviously not only have you paid for a package, but you also pay for a club card to have the sun loungers. Personally, it only happened to us one morning that we didn't find a spot. The sea is beautiful, the beach allows for long walks on both sides. I recommend a little trip to the pine forests. Entertainment: unfortunately a little lackluster, some entertainers were never seen, others didn't even say hello, except for Paolo, Francesco, and Francesca who are the points of reference.. Daytime activities, apart from sports and the 2 p.m. coffee game, were non-existent. The evening shows, two nights with outside guests and four nights with Valtur entertainment, were nice. From 11 p.m. there was absolutely no entertainment, other than music with the same playlist every night and people sitting on sun loungers getting bored. Another strange thing is the "color party" that takes place on the beach and is carried out by Valtur, therefore by the entertainment team, where a payment of 3 euros per small bag containing the color is requested, hmm! Excursions: Matteo was very nice, he gave us good advice and the excursions we took turned out to be very beautiful. Budoni town center: it is about a 25-minute walk away. On the day of departure, for those who request it, the property provides a courtesy room. The property is well-maintained and surrounded by greenery; I can say that we had a very good time and are therefore satisfied with our vacation choice. Definitely a resort that I would recommend to everyone.
