Corte Cristina

A huge disappointment. Sold with overnight stay, breakfast, and street parking available, two days before check-in they inform via WhatsApp that they provide a small breakfast basket to be consumed in the room every morning and that cleaning is done every three days. The reason is that it is a guesthouse, not a hotel! It is very difficult to find parking because there is a one-hour maximum parking limit on the street, and maneuvering in the small side streets is challenging. Insufficient cleaning of rooms and common areas, both inside and outside.

At first glance, the property looked lovely; however, on a closer look, we noticed that it needed care, with some areas appearing ruined. Lunch was excellent and plentiful, but the Service was too fast, with the dishes following one another quickly. The points that particularly out of tune were the owner, whose clothing was scruffy and inappropriate for the occasion, and the cake that was not what we expected. The reception management was hasty: the lady did not serve coffee and hastily invited guests to leave the room, the waiters were excellent. Turning to the overnight stay, the rooms, although very nice in appearance, showed small areas that need to be modernized. Specifically, the mini whirlpool in our room did not work perfectly and featured valves that came off to the touch, half the bed was slightly tilted outwards. Finally, breakfast was not always served to us fully on the days of stay." Finally we must say that the owner was so nice to offer us a room with bathroom turned into a living room for the preparation of the bride.

We already stayed there in 2013, here is my comment at the time: “Magic May 2013 • Couple We were conquered by this wonderful place, the very particular mobile brings charm c was magic. The staff is very professional and helpful. The cleanliness of the rooms is indisputable. Breakfast is tasty. We will go back.” And we went back in October 2024! What has not changed: This particular residence; The professionalism and kindness of Emilio at breakfast. What has changed: The degradation of this beautiful house, an undeniable lack of maintenance! What a shame! The lack of cleanliness of the house but also the rooms is unacceptable! The bad faith of the owner regarding our reservation. We had booked two superior rooms and got standard rooms! A tiny bedroom, a tiny bathroom without walk-in shower and a very very small sink, no wardrobe. No cleaning or changing of wipes. A real scam! From breakfast I will remember only the good mood of Emilio! For the rest NOT AT ALL WORTHY of a good Italian lunch with good bread, good cheese, good cold cuts, seasonal fruits. Nothing that represents good Italian gastronomy! Just big box products without any interest. As for parking, there is still none! The difference, 11 years ago, we easily parked in the street, today it is impossible because there are cars. We have to park very far from the house. What a disappointment and sadness!
