Hotel Rurale Orti di Nora

The Hotel Rurale e Spa di Nora is a true oasis of nature, kindness, good food, and relaxation. The pool is beautiful, especially the hydromassage one. Palm trees, vineyards, and wines, both produced on-site and otherwise. The animals in the property's park are beautiful. The restaurant's cuisine is excellent. All this just a stone's throw from Pula and Chia in the S Margherita area and its beautiful sea. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with independent entrances.

I am always loath to write negative reviews and sorry to post “ Never again for us”. You see, prior to our arrival we confirmed our arrival time three times both on the booking platform we used and by direct email to the hotel itself. We advised both a 2pm check in (the hotels minimum time) as well as a 4pm use of their spa facilities for 90 minutes. We arrived at the hotels barrier gate in our car at 2.10pm and nobody responded to the intercom by the side of the gate despite several attempts. At around 2.25pm a Ford truck pulled up behind our car and one of the occupants got out and tried the intercom but to no immediate avail. It was not until 02.30 that suddenly the barrier gate opened for us to drive to carpark then walk to the reception area. Only then were we able to check in. My wife and I were taken to our ground floor room by a very nice member of staff but alas, she could not get into the room as the electronic door card did not work. Therefore we had to wait some minutes for the member of staff to go back to the reception to have the key reprogrammed. Finally at 02.45pm we were able to get into the room only to discover that 1)the wifi did not work at all 2) The hotels mini safe did not work 3)there were just one pillow provided on each of the two twin beds and 4)the bedside light stand was shattered. Well, needless to say, we made the best of it and just rested until 3pm when we went to use the two hotel pools. One was a tepid temperature pool with air pumps and the second a small swimming pool. Both very small but adequate pools to dip in on a very hot day (37C) When the time came to go to the spa for our 4pm reserved slot, nobody was there and the door was locked. This despite the fact that we had confirmed with the reception staff upon checking in that we had made a 4pm Spa reservation. So another 5 minutes walk back to the reception only to be informed that an error had been made and that regrettably, our spa slot had not been input into their system, despite their email confirmation and confirming with us two hours earlier when we checked in! The receptionist did however, book us another appointment for the following morning at 10am (when we had planned to drive to our next planned stop which we abandoned because of this knock on effect). The next day we went to the spa in time and the steam room, sauna and dip pool were open but not alas the Jacuzzi which was undergoing maintenance. It was ok though overall We also had booked a table at the hotels restaurant at 7pm fir the day we arrived but decided to cancel at 5pm after reading some less than favorable online reviews and not wanting to take a chance given what I have already posted here. We ended up going to another restaurant just up the road from the hotel which was excellent. On a positive note there was a young lady working in the bar/cafe at the hotel and she was a very friendly person and had once worked in London so at least kudos to her. The breakfast was quite acceptable with plenty of choice and in an air conditioned environment too. This is probably the best part of this review for me. That said and In conclusion, in light of the above stated, we certainly would not return to stay again at this hotel as it does not meet the overall standards that as discerning travelers, we are accustomed to staying at. As well, here in Sardinia there are plenty of hotels and spas to choose from like the Natural Thermal Spa in Fordongianus which we have reviewed before and highly recommend.

We have never felt so good! We felt right at home, friendly staff, unique availability and kindness. Impeccable cleanliness in every corner, truly a special place and cared for in every detail.
