Hotel Mirage

I would call it a luxury campsite.

Premise: I will be shamelessly biased. Because I worked there and at the same time I deeply enjoyed it. Therefore, I did not pay for the two-month stay, but I was paid for the service performed, which certainly marks a substantial difference compared to the feedback of the vacationing guests. To whom I feel I must share my thoughts. First of all, full understanding for those who experience a certain discomfort caused by the inefficiency of some basic services, as reported by some previous reviews, in a vintage and old-fashioned hotel structure - which leads you into a sort of magic of bygone days and anachronistic values (such as, for example, bringing out the best spirit of sacrifice, adaptation, and appreciation, which nowadays we are struggling to transmit to the new "all-comfort generations" and also excessively 'spoiled'/vicious). Which, like it or not, also induces you to carefully observe the "glass half full." Because perhaps some positive and advantageous aspects of the "Mirage Planet" are forgotten: • a strategic, evocative, romantic, wild, and fabulous location/position, UNIQUE in its kind in the A.D. 2026 • the placement in a true Water-Earth Paradise (Gallura and its surroundings, breathtaking) which the location of CapoTesta represents 🗿 whose beauty and therapeutic nature for the body and spirit I find impossible to put into words • the cost of the stay is affordable and accessible to every budget, even modest ones, which is therefore simply proportional to the limitations criticized by most; otherwise, move across to the Colonna and see what happens to your mood! • the possibility of dining on tasty dishes of Italian and sometimes Sardinian tradition at a negligible price compared to the hallucinating and disrespectful receipts for an average Italian salary, which are now everywhere. With $20 if you are lucky with a salad, a cover charge and a couple of beers, you can't even manage it. • €1 coffee and €2 soft drinks at the hotel bar, a pipe dream in Sardinia • Pets allowed at no extra charge, and I wouldn't take that so much for granted, considering the emotional and family value that many still know how to give to their relationship with a Fido • total freedom and ease in feeling FREE AND CHILL just like at home, without any frills or trimmings My rating is 5 stars, also for the "white glove" treatment received from the owners, the management, and all the staff, who NEVER let me go without anything. But evidently, certain care, attention, and thoughtfulness must also be deserved! With behavior that is as humble and kind as possible and respectful of others' biodiversity. The Mirage is a bit like your favorite sports team: you don't question it, you love it. Even though various could be made and numerous improvements to make the overall service and the stay, both day and night, more pleasant and even more memorable. This is definitely beyond any doubt. First visit 20 years ago, and here we are again. I highly recommend the Mirage to nature lovers. The setting is wonderful: pine forest, pool with lounge chairs, crystal-clear beaches just a short walk away. The dining room is panoramic with a view of the sea. The breakfasts and dinners are very decent. The dinner dishes are delicious. The entire staff is very welcoming. (Respect is earned when dealing with complainers). The atmosphere with the other residents is "laid-back." Tourists who are too demanding and quick to criticize... Move along... And shell out the euros to go look elsewhere. Because no, perfection does not exist. Not even at your place!
