Baia Delle Palme

There seems to be 2 main areas you can stay, one is by the pool and the other by the beach. It’s a good few hundred meters between them both. The apartments by the pool are closer to the cafe / bar and the grounds are quite lush and green. The apartments by the beach are covered with the shade of pine trees which gave a quiet rural feel. The pool was lovely and the cafe / bar was open in the morning and evenings. The chap running the cafe / bar was great (Maximo). He was very friendly and gave us some very good local recommendations. We were in the apartments by the beach. The apartment itself was basic, very clean, and absolutely fine for us. The kitchen was basic, but suitable for cooking a few simple dishes. The overall location worked well for us as we wanted to explore local beaches. There were plenty within 15 to 30 mins drive. The beach by the apartments was rocky but became one of our favourite spots as on some early mornings the water was crystal clear and in the evening it was ideal for watching the night sky with shooting stars. I do recommend sea shoes for this beach and it’s worth taking them to the other beaches as well if you want to snorkel and explore the less touristy beaches. Overall I would recommend this location with the recommendation of sea shoes, and a rental car.

The facility is very beautiful, has a private character. The beach is small, rocky, but the water is very clean and you are almost all by yourself. The apartment was reasonably well-equipped, although kitchen utensils like wooden spoons and cutting boards could certainly be replaced sometime. Also, some essential dishes were missing, such as breakfast plates or serving utensils. Bath towels and bed linens were not changed as described, even upon request.

Our experience at Baia delle Palme was dramatic. We will not dwell on long descriptions as we are certain that the photos are more than explanatory. The experience proved negative from the beginning as at the reception we met an arrogant and truly unfriendly blonde lady. We arrive at the apartment and already from the external situation we understand that cleanliness is not a priority. Inside the room, the smell of damp, closed, and stale air that greets us is embarrassing (we will later verify that it will be such as to impregnate all our clothes). The kitchen counter is populated by a colony of ants, the bedspread has holes, the pillowcases and the kitchen tablecloth are stained, the window panes and the oven are full of embarrassing streaks, not to mention the two inches of dust on top of the refrigerator and the spider webs present in all the rooms. The bathroom is absolutely not functional, there is no counter space, and it does not correspond to any of the photos that the property publishes online. However, the worst had not yet arrived. The terrace is unusable! Dirty, poorly maintained, neglected. The umbrella was devastated, the lounge chair lacked a cushion, on the ground there was pigeon guano and feathers, leaves, and dirt as if no one had cleaned since the previous season. The chairs and the table were very dirty. For the price paid, we truly believe it was an embarrassing stay and not up to par. Not only for what was paid but also for the 80 EUR cleaning fee and the 10 EUR per day per person requested for the linens. It is a shame that for stays of less than 14 days, a change of linens is not provided. Finally, we point out that in response to our complaints, the property only thought to leave us a change of linens outside the door (evidently, cleaning is not a priority). If you have no alternatives to this property, at least do not let them give you apartment 326! Fortunately, Sardinia is wonderful and this was just a negative aspect that has nothing to do with the extraordinary beauties of this incredible region. Do not be fooled by the photos of the pool and the garden, which are very beautiful, because the surprise will be inside the accommodations. I assure you that for what you pay, you can find much better!!!!
