Hotel Aria di Mare

TV out, bidet too. Otherwise okay!

We booked at the Aria di Mare hotel well in advance (October 2025), taking advantage of a discount valid for a few days for Black Friday. The room booked was a "Classic" double, but upon our arrival, we were given a double/twin room... Very different from what we expected. The room is small, furnished with Ikea furniture (probably also bought during Black Friday) and with a hard and uncomfortable mattress. The bathroom has a small shower (I even hurt myself moving inside it), with a half-open enclosure and a crusty showerhead that forced you to stay pressed against the wall so as not to flood the whole bathroom. The room door cannot be closed by just pulling it shut because it lacks a latch. One day we had gone out right after breakfast; we returned in the evening and found it open... probably left open by the cleaning lady in the morning. (We had closed it in the morning before leaving, and it's impossible that we forgot, because we would have noticed immediately). Some power switches did not work. The room on the ground floor has a window that overlooks a backyard garden with a view of drying racks (the existence of which we were unaware, and no one ever told us we could use it to hang towels and swimsuits... so we hung everything inside the shower). There are hotels that have rooms with a sea view and those with a view of people taking their dog out to do its business in the backyard "garden". Let's move on to the "safety certification" part. The hotel closes at 8:30 PM (remember that we are talking about a 3-star hotel in a very touristy area). To enter the hotel after this time, you just need to open the outer gate (open 24/7 without keys) and from there you could access all the rooms... 24/7 without keys) and from there you could access all the rooms... You might wonder if at least the breakfast is decent... Well, with a great effort, I would say you can settle for it. Anything positive? The ladies who served breakfast were always smiling. A week with only breakfast cost (with the Black Friday discount) more than 1300 euros... not bad for the service offered... I remember that the property does not have a bar, parking, or restaurant (they have a few partner establishments, but I would tend to rule them out given the prices). Just two days into our stay, I received a satisfaction survey via email (the kind usually sent at the end of a stay), in which I had expressed some less-than-positive opinions. I would have expected someone to come and ask for an explanation, but evidently, that is not among their priorities. In conclusion... if you have already booked, run away; otherwise, I think there are better solutions at more or less the same cost, right in the center.
