A brilliant place to stay. Great gardens and view. Secure. Easy reach of Catania, Etna and Toamina. Just sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. In the village there are bars, restaurants and supermarket.

I just visited this place for 3 nights, and first and foremost the host Walter was very nice, very polite and welcoming. The price of this place is very cheap and the views are amazing. I suggest though that place is good for Summer not for Winter as the air condition could not cope with the low temperatures. The floors have no carpets and so we suffered some cold. If you hate stirs, make sure to rent the first floor ones not the second, especially if you have a lot of luggage to carry. I also suggest to rent a car or make sure you will have some form of taxi service as the location is a bit far away from the centre, and I did not feel safe to walk alone with children in the evening which gets very dark. All in all, the place is fantastic, but it's more ideal for Summer.

Unfortunately a week did not do justice to this lovely Island. The accomodation was lovely, the facilities were all that we could want including a view from our balcony that would demand a massive premium in most places. Our host waited for a late plane and then graciously took us to Catania on our last day and had his wife pick us up and take us to the airport for a late flight. Thank you! I woul be remiss if I didn't point out a couple of things. You really MUST have transport to stay here, a car or a motor bike. The village of Santa Tecla is loveyl, it is just about a kilometre away but the last few hundred metres is up a steep hill. The beach in the village is a VERY stony beach, it can be hard to get in and out of the water. However with transport there are lovely sandy beaches. With these caveats stay here you will enjoy it, by the way we are 71 and 65 and perhaps more susceptible to hills etc.
