Aldebaran Family Hotel

frumos Stayed 7 night at this wonderful and friendly hotel. Excellent location within walking distance to most attractions , one of the highest buildings in siracusa .i like very much this hotel,very nearby the a18 freeway,i like friendly proprietors,and i want to go back another time

I booked this place thinking that a "family hotel" would be a friendly and welcoming place. After a bit of a struggle to find it owing to the new road system in place we were greeted by the owner and shown our room. Our room was tidy and clean, though it was suffering from some lack of repair in certain areas. And despite the fact that there was an indoor seating area we weren't able to use it since it was locked. It would have been good to sit here in the evening with a coffee or tea and enjoy a bit more space. The breakfast was also rather minimal and lacking in any "family" touches. An OK place for an overnight stay but not as a base for longer visits around the region.

We stayed in this hotel for four days. It was optimal for us, quiet with a little pool. A car is required since the hotel is located a 10 min drive outside Siracusa. Also, it is within reasonable driving distanse to Noto, Ragusa and Modica - and beaches. The service was outstanding. In sum, a good choice if you have a car and want to explore Siracusa and the south-eastern part of Sicily.
