Bed & Breakfast Villa Schiticchiu

Thank you Francesco we had a lovely family stay and you were all very hospitable, even looking after us when we arrived much too early to check in. Lovely view and comfortable rooms on a budget. Quiet free rocky beach over the road and a short walk into town- although a bit too risky with young children.

Fantastic stay as a family of 4! The property is very clean, cosy and comfortable for a family (we had two interconnected rooms so the children could have their own space). Francesco and his auntie were very kind and accommodating, giving us good advice on what to see and do in and around Taormina! The day we arrived, Francesco offered to take us to a dolphin watching boat trip, which we took up - what a fantastic start of our holiday! Breakfast deserves a special mention - we had the most delicious omelet, scrambled eggs, salads and of course sweet Sicilian cakes and treats! I should add that we made an error when booking and instead of 4 people we somehow managed to book as 3 adults. Despite this Francesco was very flexible and still found a way for us to have interconnecting rooms and be comfortable! The property is situated on the main road so there is some noise from passing traffic but it didn’t disturb us. If you are walking to the local beach (absolutely fabulous one!) you need to walk along the main road for a few minutes - we did this with two young children and it wasn’t a problem. It’s a 10 min walk to the cable car which takes you up to Taormina old town. In summary - this is a fabulous place to stay in Taormina and I would not hesitate to come back! In fact we’d be tempted to come back to Sicily just to stay at Villa Schiticchiu.

Rude and self centered service. The rooms are bare. I have never been to a B&B that failed to provide even a tiny bar of soap, until this one. An unsafe and excessive walk to and from the town. So many good reviews for the breakfast is a mystery. It was average at best. Stay anywhere else.
