Big Hotels Club Hotel Torre Xiare

The hotel is located in very, very peaceful area - only a few restaurants around. Rooms were clean and properly-equipped. Fantastic views. Delicious food. The staff was very nice, but unfortunately very often it was really hard to communicate in English, what caused a lot of problems, both in the restaurant and at the reception. What is more, we sometimes had to ask a few times if we needed someting, because the staff forgot about us. What was a big surprise for us, was that the swimming caps were compulsory at the swimming pool. That was weird, we hadn't run across such a rule in any hotel before, but what was worse - the hotel provided them, but of course not for free. That made a veeeeeeeery bad impression on us.

Very basic hotel. A crazy amount of cops staying here in November. A big complex with nothing going on during the winter times. Greeted by a nice receptionist gave us a map and told us where to go which was nice. Room was large but pretty basic. Wifi worked okay and room was clean. Breakfast was basic aswell they could do with improving this. For the price it wasn’t a bad stay but is a bit of a drive from everything.

The hotel is located in an isolated area. There is one brilliant pizzeria 10mins walk (Vittorioso Rosaria Anna Maria Pizzeria L'Ancora ) and 2 bars and one another restaurant with a "tourist" menu in. It has nice big swimming pool and lots of sun loungers. Rooms had good air conditioning. Towels changed daily. BUT... We were very disappointing with the breakfast - as for a 4* hotel they served only: standard tea, bad coffee, 2 type of juices, croissants, some jam cake, dry hard bread, butter/jam/honey, not nice warm yogurt, cereals with canned fruits. No fresh fruits, no eggs, no cold meats/cheeses, no proper bread. It seems a lot but the choice was very limited and very poor. Not what you would expect from the 4* hotel. The ground in the parking lot is covered with some dusty limestone - all suitcases covered in this stuff. WI-FI only in rooms and reception. No connection at the pool. They advertise the entertainment in the season but nothing was happening when we stayed there. Hotel and pool is wide open for outsiders.... lots of people coming in and out from outside, especially to swim. There was an invasion of ants everywhere... especially in rooms in the morning. Our door had some plastic strip fitted to the door's bottom with first aid bandages to stop those coming into the room. No mini bar or bottle openers in the room. Dirty bathrooms (nice decor but dirty). Lots of black stuff close to the rim in the toilets and showers. Overpriced lunches/dinners and food/drinks in the bar (and again very limited choices). Very loud music being played at the swimming pool - you are unable to chat plus it is closed between 1pm and 3pm for siesta. Lastly, language barrier - you will communicate faster using hands making "air drawings" and "sound making" then in English. Google translator will become your best friend. Staff is trying hard to communicate but there is no one who speaks proper English there.
