Hotel Locanda Del Castello

The hotel is a bit difficult to locate as it sits at the top of Sciacca in th old quarter near the square. It definitely fits the 3 star category. The steps to the port are a little steep but worth the effort as it is an interesting area. The steps even have occasional bench on the side for a rest. Rooms are functional and the price is a good value.

We arrived slightly before checkin about 2:30PM on the day of our booking and the entrance door was locked, with no lights on inside. We tried to call the number on the door several times until 6:00PM with no message or response (it just rang out), and the hotel was still closed. We tried a local cafe and although they were very helpful and tried to call phone numbers they had there was still no luck. In the end, after travelling several hours to get there, we decided to move on to Alcamo. I sent them two emails via Booking.com but no response, explanation, or apology. Luckily Booking.com are giving us a full refund. This is the first time in all our travels for over 40 years we have experienced this with a "hotel". I would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone based on our experience!

in december do not stay at this hotel.The heting on the room not workng.Avoid to stay at this hotel .The room is large but the wc is broken no glass and the servis is desapoiment.The girl at the reception tell the heting start in 3 hoaors but after 10 haor ithe room is frezing and the lady is desapered.
