Hotel Santa Lucia Le Sabbie d'Oro

Very dissatisfied: very dated property, signs of damage from water infiltration and leaks on the hallway walls, pool bathrooms far away and foul-smelling. Problems detected in the rooms: shower tray in very poor condition, cracked and split in many places and with 2 hairs, sink clogged, bottom of the toilet stained and dirty, bed sheet with a yellow stain, refrigerator in the room empty and dirty with a yellowish substance, TV not working, bathroom water system emits loud, annoying noises after use. Breakfast is of low quality and very limited in choice: only 1 type of cereal, the sweet section offers only 2 cakes and small empty croissants, only 2 types of unripe and inedible fruit. Reception staff not kind and impatient.

Horrendous hotel , what you see in the pictures is the smaller new part of the hotel , a family emergency meant we had to leave after one night, told we would have a refund for the remaining nights ( entitled to ) on check out given receipt for one night then told to send a death certificate so they would refund the rest .. management not very good hotel to be avoided ..see the pictures below of what is so called a superior room which maybe was in 1940 Would recommend you stay clear of this place

The hotel combines two hotels that were once distinct, the Santa Lucia and the Sabbie d'oro. We were assigned a room in the "Sabbie d'oro" area, while for breakfast (through a long renovated corridor) we were moved to the "Santa Lucia" area. The pool is also located in the "Santa Lucia" area. Both structures on the outside have been well renovated, but the interiors of the building (at least where we stayed) have remained as they were in the past, with dated furniture and a bathroom that is really very worn (toilet with a streak that gives a sense of dirt even though it is only due to rust or something else, chipped tiles, worn towels, bathtub not very comfortable...). Moreover, right under the hotel, there are railway tracks and several trains pass by, which we could hear even with the windows closed. The only truly appreciable thing about our room was the balcony with a beautiful sea view. Being on a high floor, we were able to enjoy the stunning panorama even more. Through a pedestrian underpass and a private staircase of 100 steps from the hotel, you can reach the promenade quite quickly, and continuing on foot, you can get to the historic center of Cefalù. We made the walk twice, both going and returning, and we got tired (perhaps also due to the high temperatures of the season). Furthermore, in the evening, upon returning, the last stretch is poorly lit and the 100 steps uphill are not as easy to climb as going down. I do not know if the interiors of the Santa Lucia hotel can be better than those where we stayed, but I am not certain.
