Villa Sant Andrea

So.... as my name is Andrea, my chum said we should go to Villa Sant’ Andrea during our stay in Taormina Sicily. Then we didn’t know where it was, so no matter, we got the cable car down to the beach from Taormina. We walked past the first beach ‘club’ Pigneau where the sun beds were squished together and there was a distinct lack of elegance. I could see the next ‘bay’ over had some beautifully laid out beds with plenty of space in between and pristine white sun parasols, so we trudged back up the next set of steps and found out it was in fact Villa Sant’ Andrea.... it was a sign! We realised then it was a hotel and we thought maybe we’d ask at reception if we could use their private beach... no problem, for a fee, which you might think is steep at €100 for two beds and an umbrella but it was the best €100 I have spent. Is it cheap, no. Is it perfect, yes. Like all things in life you get what you pay for. Service on the beach, the bar and the restaurant perfect, the facilities, perfect, the food perfect. A perfect day all round. A DJ plays chilled out tunes from about 2.30pm from the bar, you can charge your phone, use the fantastic toilette facilities and basically be treated so very well even though we weren’t actual guests of the hotel. Did we spend some cash, of course, you can’t go somewhere so sublime for free, but it was worth every cent. The staff are a credit to this hotel. Charming, helpful, friendly and without doubt the best service of my whole stay in Sicily. Thank you Villa Sant’ Andrea for a perfect day ❤️
