Villa Tasca

Very beautiful place, kept with care, both in the outdoor and indoor spaces. The lady is very kind and helpful. Our room was spacious and very clean. The pools are beautiful. Breakfast of excellent quality and locally sourced.

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. I am truly sorry to leave this review, because the lady was very kind, helpful, and thoughtful, and her son was truly very sweet. Unfortunately, however, for us, it just didn't work out. We had chosen this property after seeing it on Booking, Google, and especially on the website, where various activities and services were presented. We therefore expected something very different. The property is huge and would have incredible potential, but we found it very neglected and poorly maintained. As for the activities, archery was not available, while for horseback riding we were told that the instructor was not present and that we should have contacted him beforehand. Considering that we had booked only one night and that the activity was listed among those available, the way they were presented online seemed unclear to us. The pool was definitely the most serious issue. The water was so murky that, even with goggles, I couldn't see the bottom or my friend underwater from less than a meter away. At the entrance, it was indicated that work would have to be done for the paint that was peeling off, but honestly, I don't believe that green and murky water, practically like a pond, can be justified by the paint alone. A situation that we found truly unacceptable and that left us very worried even after having gone for a swim. Furthermore, the white plastic lounge chairs were completely black and dirty: a simple cleaning would have been necessary. The room also had several problems: dirty floor, white sheet with obvious black stains, and brown dust/residue on the bedspread, probably coming from the wooden roof. The lady apologized immediately and tried to make amends, but the mop was simply passed over the dirt. Outside there were also a great many mosquitoes and, upon our request for a mosquito repellent, we were told that chemical products are not used. We understand the choice, but it would be necessary to find alternatives to make the area livable anyway. Only a trickle of water came out of the sink and the bidet. Furthermore, it had not been explained to us that the hot water depended on a water heater: I took a shower first and my partner subsequently found himself with cold water. Our room was missing shampoo and body wash, which were instead present in our friends' room. We only found a liquid soap dispenser that seemed extremely diluted; I used it on my hair and, once dry, they smelled bad. The breakfast, too, despite being rustic, seemed rather mediocre to us: the cakes were very dry. During breakfast, moreover, a cat, which I had not even considered, scratched me. We had been told that we could go see and pet the horses, but they were separated by a fence with barbed wire, so in fact it was not possible to get close. We did not use the SPA because the price seemed a bit high to us, so we cannot express any judgment. We are sincerely sorry, because the lady seemed like a very kind person to us and we felt bad seeing her mortified every time she had to inform us that something was not available. However, such a large facility requires, in our opinion, much more staff, organization, and above all maintenance. We also had the impression that our room was among those less well-kept compared to others we saw from the outside, closer to the pool or the restaurant. We arrived with high expectations precisely because of what we had seen online, but the reality was unfortunately very different. We are sorry, but this really does not work for us.
