Hotel Villa Archirafi

The hotel is very close to the train station, so it is very easy to reach, the staff is very kind; sure, the rooms are not state-of-the-art, but they are clean and perfect for those who want to travel around and have a reference point.

A reason for me to select this hotel was its relative closeness to the railway station, to the airport bus terminal and to other bus connections. Walking down Lincoln street, on which the hotel is located, one will first see after leaving the railway station mainly Chinese shops, then it becomes grander the closer one gets to the sea with the Foro Italico walking area. Just opposite the hotel is the neoclassical Palazzo Jung and almost next door comes the Botanical Garden and the garden of the Villa Giulia. In front of the hotel entrance is a parking area. It all doesn't look very much like a villa. Check-in on arrival was easy, the elderly man in charge, whom I then saw regularly, was friendly, more so than other members of the staff. I stayed twice at this accommodation, first in a room on the first floor, then in one with a larger bed on the second floor. It was quiet in both room. The rooms had all I needed, except that there are hardly any power outlets. There was an empty fridge, but no drinking water was provided. The bathroom was fine. What I liked the least was the breakfast with only different types of breads and different jams plus a yoghurt. There is no buffet, everything is already on the tables. On my second stay I went to a nearby Café Bar for breakfast, where I had a bigger choice for less money. To go out for the dinner there is not too far away the Piazza Magione with several bars and restaurants.

When we arrived the place immediately appeared "vintage" and we got a little worried. But after spending 2 days in this hotel, I can say that really the dress does not make the monk. Very clean rooms, just as the linen was changed every day. Breakfast rich in variety and plentiful. Very courteous staff. Great location. Reserved parking. Top!
