Palco Rooms&Suites

Firstly we were very surprised and disappointed to be given a room that wasn’t in the main building. I don’t think it is made clear from the website that some rooms are in a completely different location. We arrived in the evening and got taken to an apartment a couple of minutes walk from the main building. It is in a very run down dirty road and the apartment itself was very dark and dingy. We felt initially like we were in a prison cell !! The decor is minimalist and the walls are grey as is the floor . There are pipes and wiring exposed in the lounge giving the impression that the apartment is not yet finished. It states in the website that there is a kettle in the room - we didn’t have one - and says you have wonderful views of the opera house - we had no view at all! Having said all the above the location is perfect with easy access to all the main sites of the city . The breakfast which is in the main building was good and in a lovely bright room with a great view of the opera house . The apartment itself was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. There are two small flights of stairs up to the apartment and no lift which wasn’t an issue for us but if mobility is an issue this would be a problem. We really enjoyed our stay in Palermo and despite our initial disappointment with our room we appreciated the great location.

We had an extended six day stay after a stressful itinerary change due to Etnas eruption and this turned out to be a blessing. Giacomo and Stefania were superb hosts. Our room was very clean, quiet and peaceful, enabling many restful nights. Breakfast was delicious. The location is as described with the famous Opera House adjacent and the main promenade through the city centre 200 metres away. Great value for money, this is a perfect place to soak up the atmosphere of what is a must visit Italian city.

The view was amazing and the location was unbeatable. The breakfast was Yummy and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. They didn’t have any dairy free yogurt and then went out and bought some. As a family we loved it !
