Country Hotel Borgo Alto

The property was more like a 2.5 star than a 5 star property. Location was quite remote so plan on lots of driving to get to other locations. The bedrooms were a bit primitive with cracks in the door and window frames that let in mosquitoes and ants. Some bathroom floors and showers had mold and snails in them. The furniture in some of the rooms was old and smelly and very dark inside. The mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable.The common area did not have a living room but only a spartan dining room with painted tables and chairs. On a rainy day, the dining area was the only place to congregate and it was not comfortable. The bedrooms were so dark even in the daytime. Also, there was no bathroom in the common area so you would have to go back to your room if you needed a toilet. The view was lovely as was the pool, although unheated and too cold to swim in... My friends and I would never go back. Not a good property for a group of friends looking to stay in a posh villa. The experience was like camping with cabins.

We Really enjoyed the tranquitily of this nice hotel. Fairly basic Facilities but a great location on a plateau with views of Syracusa and Sea. Swimming pool is awesome. Very friendly hosts. We Will for sure come back and can highly recommend to All Nature Lovers.

A really special place aaway from it all - great location close to all, great view lovely pool great hosts - will certainly return !! Make sure you visit Ortygia in Syracusa, and spend time exploring the Iblea hills
