La Dependance

Very disappointing experience. We arrived at the hotel in the middle of the night after a long journey and discovered that there was no water, a truly unacceptable situation that caused us significant inconvenience. We thought the problem was limited to that night, but the next day we faced another serious issue: the air conditioning was not working. The thing that disappointed us the most was the owner's attitude, who appeared completely uninterested in the reported problems and did nothing to find a solution or at least apologize for the inconvenience. For a hotel, providing essential services like water and air conditioning is the bare minimum. Unfortunately, our experience was well below expectations and completely compromised our stay. I would not recommend it.

AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This is the first of many reviews to come. We are just awaiting a refund for the suite. We paid to stay here on our honeymoon to Sicily, but what they don’t tell you is that the suite is adjoining a night club that plays music till 2am. My noise cancelling headphones couldn’t even block out the noise. We let them know of this issue at 12 and 1 and asked to checkout with a refund to go and find another hotel in the night. I ended up sleeping on the sofa in the kitchen, and my husband on the floor in the kitchen. In the morning, then stated they couldn’t process the refund for that night or any future nights because they couldn’t get in touch with the boss. Once the refund is processed this review will be deleted. We paid over 600 euros to stay here one night which is more than we have ever paid for a hotel. The staff are non cooperative and we spend 3 hours on our last morning arguing with them.

Beautiful hotel remarkably located in the heart of Noto. Tastefully decorated in an old building. Room quite spacious and relatively quiet despite the presence of a main street below. Attentive service: they come to pick you up with your luggage in a golf cart at the location where you are parked. Ortigia products in the bathrooms and for the ambient fragrances. This is for the positive points. For the negative points: the parking spaces are rather difficult to find (the parking they mention is always full and located in a pedestrian zone). However, this is offset by the fact that they make the effort to come and pick you up. The hotel is located on the floor of the building and has no elevator. If you have mobility issues, you should look elsewhere. The badge system for opening the doors is sometimes temperamental, but it always ends up working. Annoying things: only one small trash can in the bathroom, the inability to read in bed with just the bedside lamps, you have to keep the ceiling light on, which is not pleasant. The coffee machine and kettle (great) must be moved to be used… next to an outlet… and therefore only next to the bed! They offer you recycled toilet paper, recycled paper towels, but they give you plastic cups wrapped in individual plastic bags (???). Mold accumulates on the shower joints, and the showerhead is so clogged that the water sprays in all directions. (It's a shame because the facilities are good). To conclude, you learn at checkout that the coffees in your room were charged… and seeing our shocked faces, they decide not to charge us for them… I hesitated for a long time to give a 4, but overall it was still good.
