Location
Pros - far enough away from the chaos of Palermo central traffic but close enough to get there easily on tram (10 minute walk away)
Cons - awful area! The hotel says its backs onto the beach which it does … but what it doesn’t tell you is that the beach is awfully polluted, full of rubbish and homeless tents! NOT safe. The streets at the front of the hotel are also full of rubbish and the whole area stinks awful, like sewerage mixed with rotting trash. Very run down and did not feel safe at all.
Staff
Pros - all loverly - no complaints
Cons - none
Room
Pros - none
Cons - very basic and outdated, there was a canvas painting above the bed that had slashes through it like someone had taken to it with a knife! Why on earth is it still up?? Old battered furniture, stains on the bedding and curtains, tiny TV and a mucky old fridge. No kettle.
Bathroom grubby, rusting fixtures, damp smell.
Breakfast
Pros - plenty available
Cons - dry, cheap processed items. Hardly anything fresh.
Overall - avoid!! Awful area being the main concern. Horrible room which was meant to be a superior room - if this was superior I’d hate to see the economy rooms! Only reason for 2 stars is that the staff seemed nice.

Avoid staying at Villa d’Amato Hotel.
This hotel is extremely outdated, dirty, and poorly maintained. When we arrived, there was an unused cigarette left directly on one of the beds and two used water bottles from previous guests still sitting in the room. Clearly the room was not cleaned properly before check-in. The bathroom smelled like a sewer the entire stay, and the half-door shower design caused water to spray everywhere across the bathroom floor.
The customer service was even worse than the cleanliness. We politely brought the cigarette and dirty room issues to the front desk, and instead of apologizing, the long-haired male employee told us it “wasn’t a big deal” and kept making excuses for the cleaning staff. He acted like we were overreacting and gave us attitude the entire conversation. He reluctantly mentioned switching rooms, but clearly did not want to help. When he finally told us which room to move to, we walked in and found housekeeping still cleaning it at almost 6 PM.
The AC did not work at all. Because the room was unbearably hot, we had no choice but to sleep with the balcony/door open. There were no screens, so I got completely eaten alive by mosquitoes all night.
The walls are also paper thin and you can hear any and everything.
Overall, this hotel felt dirty, poorly managed, and unprofessional. Between the filthy room, broken AC, rude staff, and lack of accountability, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

Hotel well located, room and bathroom sufficiently spacious and clean.Free parking available for Palermo is quite rari.Abbiamo used the half board, simple but quality dinner with generous portions, very kind and friendly waiter, varied and complete breakfast for both sweet and savory. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Value for money unbeatable.Recommended.
