We stayed with my family at Eremo in August 2026. The place is interesting because of its rich history. The location is tranquil and pristine. The rooms and suites are well appointed. Each room is different. The serenity of the place is unparalleled. The restaurant is excellent and the included breakfast delicious and abundant. They use only local and genuine products. The staff was the most cordial and professional that I have ever met. Overall our stay at Eremo was magical!

Very beautiful location and attentive staff. Excellent food. Sustainable and beautiful new furnishing of the already existing rooms. Gentle renovation of the property. A somewhat different, yet very beautiful property in a former monastery. We felt completely comfortable. Our room was a bit small and dark, but it fits a former monastery.

We just wrapped up an incredible 11-night stay at Eremo della Giubiliana in Ragusa, and it was perfect. We stayed in one of the cottages, which don’t get nearly enough attention or photos in most reviews. They were spacious, charming, and gave us the perfect private space with a toddler. The breakfast is seriously underrated—everyone raves about it, and for good reason. We also ate dinner at the on-site restaurant 3–4 times. The food was excellent, and they were happy to do takeaway for us, which was a lifesaver with a little one. We loved eating out on our cottage patio in the evenings. The hotel supplies bikes, which was one of the highlights. Riding around the old airstrip was magical. There’s so much history in Sicily that it often goes unnoticed, but this airfield was used during Operation Husky in WWII. If this were in Canada, it would be a protected landmark with plaques everywhere. Here, there’s just a small, understated sign. Staying at Eremo della Giubiliana truly felt like a blessing—quiet, authentic, and deeply special. The staff were elite. Special shout-out to the wonderful waiter Mirko (I believe that was his name) and our outstanding male housekeeper. While it’s not set up as a traditional long-stay hotel, Ragusa proved to be an excellent central base for exploring the eastern side of Sicily. We never had to drive more than a couple of hours to reach places like Taormina. We couldn’t recommend it enough. If you’re looking for a peaceful, character-filled retreat with outstanding service and a real sense of place, book this one.
