Case di Sicilia

The location is excellent as it is close to shopping and the historic center but just a few blocks away so less people to contend with. The main road is between the apartment and the wonderful view of the sea. The road is a bit noisy just around bedtime, between 10 and 12 midnight, but quiet after midnight. You can close the windows and put on the AC, if it bothers you. A few things could be improved without much cost to make it a whole lot more functional. For instance the external shutters on the double door to the small balcony only open on one side so half of the sea view is missing and you can only fit one chair in the opening. The non working shutter used to have hinges on it but have been replaced with fixed brackets so it no longer opens. Small thing to fix and not much cost for a pair of hinges. Secondly the kitchenette has no prep space so if you plan on cooking or any food prep then you will find it frustrating. We moved the large eat at table from the other side of the room close to the kitchenette so we food prep on its surface. Thirdly, the bed is tired and wobbly. It needs some maintenance to stiffen it up so it does not move so much. Hope the owner picks up on this review as those few fixes would get a top score review if done before I stayed there again. Sea view apartment, with small outside area with table and chairs to sun bathe or to have dinner. Apartment was big, and we used the kitchen to cook dinner on a couple occasions, ad it was fine. Parking was easy in the end, though make sure you do NOT park in front of any door int he neighbourhood as you will be towed. I walked right across the street to the swimming platform (one of only a few places to swim) every day - not 2 minutes out the for from the place. And of course, the view of the water from right across the street was lovely.
