It is an iconic hotel in an amazing place in this vibrant and trendy city. We stayed here for 5 nights and it was definitely worth repeating. The Timeo restaurant (breakfast and dinner) is amazing. In addition to the hotel guests, many guests come from elsewhere and that gives a good vibe. We had a terrace suite and it is quite dated in terms of decor, plumbing and amenities. We also had a connected door to the next room and that made it very noisy. The pool is nice. Big plus is the shuttle that runs every 30 minutes to the other Belmond hotel in Taormina. There are beach beds, beach club and sea. We've made a lot of use of that. Very good hotel right on the beach. Of course we also compared Four Seasons before booking. In retrospect, I might have preferred to stay there. Property impresses much more, corridors are very beautiful and swimming pool is contemporary and more allure than that of the Belmond. Downside is that Four Seasons has no option to go to the beach. Daardoro is very busy at Four Seasons by the pool. At Belmond, that lake divides. At our Belmond Hotel the gym was disappointing. As for equipment and facilities like towel and water. It is considering the size of the whole hotel actually unworthy of this gym. Very nice people and location of this hotel is absolutely top. So therefore full of conviction the 5-star rating.

Absolutely beautiful property with stunning priceless views of Mount Etna. The San Don does have nicer rooms - but the overall experience here is far far better and that is what makes your holiday. We cannot state how impeccable the service is for a property of this size - personalised and genuine - intuitive - a rare thing that they anticipate your needs. . All staff from the most junior to managerial roles are excellent can hold a conversation etc. we stay quite frequently at Claridges and in some respects it reminds you of there - nothing is too much. Incredible food at the hotel and the sister property at the beach. My wife used the spa this year which is now permanent Dior fixture and it was incredible. Amazing massage - again rivalled the ones my wife has in claridges. Easy shuttle to the beach which is a massive bonus in Taormina. Rooms have beautiful views but are a tad older and require updating it but the beauty of the property, the food and the service make up for it. Albeit we recommend taking a more straightforward room category.
