San Domenico Palace Hotel

The grounds are so beautiful and the pool looks amazing but we went for dinner and it was very disappointing. We were a table of 6 and g were seated up the back so had no view at all and half of us were wedged tightly on a bench that was not only uncomfortable, very hard to navigate, But was covered in some kind of course sand or maybe crumbs. Admittedly we should have asked them to clean it but it was very busy and we were all already seated. We had to repeatedly ask for our wine to be refilled. Honestly the food was pretty unimpressive too. I ordered an anchovy dish that seemed local and interesting but it was just anchovies a couple of tomato pieces and olive oil. That might be ok in a local eatery, if the ingredients were perfect, but the tomatoes were sad and it was around AU$50. The lobster pasta was tasty but not amazing and the lobster totalled 3 very small chunks. It cost about AU$130. Our bill was around AU$2k and we already paid for the wine in the bar before dinner. The bread and olive oil was outstanding. The view would have been incredible but we could see none of it

Just returned from a six night stay, and there’s no way to describe this hotel other than “perfect. The hotel itself is beautiful, inside and out. The pool and the view are breathtaking. And the service was exceptional. The staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect, and they knew our names, our orders and how we liked things seemingly from the moment we arrived. We’ve been fortunate to stay at some of the best properties in the world and this is second to none. Already dreaming of going back.

Had an amazing stay at the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace. The historic hotel is absolutely beautiful, they did a great job keeping artefacts and some furniture from the original building that really made the hotel feel special. However what really stood out was the service. From the all-female leadership team and guest services team who greeted us and looked after us, to everyone we met throughout the hotel, the entire team really went above and beyond. They knew our plans, were always there when we needed anything, and every request was taken care of with a smile. We really couldn’t have asked for better service. Our room was beautiful, with its own pool and garden. The food was great, breakfast had lovely touches like the granita and cannoli stations, and of course the main pool with the Dolce & Gabbana sunbeds is iconic. Looking forward to returning
