Villa Il Glicine Residence

The apartment complex looks nice in the pictures. But you won't end up there if you book a larger apartment. You enter the main building on a busy street with no balcony between private residents. Lots of noise from buses, cars and scooters. This goes on until night. So if you sleep on the roadside, you don't sleep a wink. Outdated plumbing and regularly no water. One big disappointment.

What a place! It was a spectacular location. Right in the middle of the action, walkable with sidewalks, and just off the road enough to be quiet. I cannot recommend the location enough. We had a wonderful stay. The space was a boutique apartment. With character just like the city of Taormina. The apartment had a kitchen, balcony, view of the water, and lots of space. I was traveling with 2 young adult children, and we had plenty of space and very clean. I was concerned as there is no restaurant... don't be! There is a local bakery 2 doors down, a pub next door and across the street a little restaurant serving breakfast (early), lunch and dinner. And it is right across from the bus stop/taxi stand. Really remarkable stay! I searched and searched for a location. I had originally opted for a larger hotel with full amenities, (more than $3k USA) and so glad I cancelled and stayed here. Book directly on the website. The owner only speaks Italian just adding to the uniqueness of the place. It was clean, perfect location, and had someone in the office 24hrs if needed. Just ring the bell. We were able to leave our luggage in the lobby for the first few hours and walk the square. In the evening, they have wine, water, drinks in the lobby for a very small euro and you can bring to room. Or stop at the local store and bring with you. Stay here, it was welcoming and a true reflection of the Sicilian culture. Loved it! Enjoy! Would stay again.

Nice and well located apartment with a kitchenette and a nice balcony with nice views of Taormina. The bathroom unfortunately with a cramped shower cubicle and not so very best shower tap. The bedroom also not so big, but doable if you have not brought too much luggage
