Residence La Lampara

We went here for dinner because it was so busy with Italians. The pizza did look good but we had the red tuna and an octopus salad. Really busy place but quick and good service with no fuss. Good menu with lots of pizza (the pizza oven is huge) and local specialities.

We were stranded by a hoax b&b that didn't exist. Thank goodness the Lampara was in the same street. The apartment is clean and simple, providing all basic needs for a short or longer stay with a small kitchenette with basic facilities. The Lampara is close to both the main promenade and the ferry services, being in the old part of town on the peninsula of Trapani.

We booked a short stay here in July 2012, The hotel arranged a taxi to and from the airport for 25 Euro each way, which seemed fine as it is a decent half hour journey. We really enjoyed the accommodation and surrounding area.We were booked in as a couple with our young niece, and the initial room we were shown was 3 in one room, I asked if there was any accommodation with separate sleeping quarters and after overcoming our language difficulties we were shown to another apartment that had a large separate front room, it was perfect! The kitchen was compact and clean, and the toilet and shower was also compact and clean, nothing was anywhere near five star, but then that's reflected in the price. The rooms had lovely ceilings and old fashioned solid doors, there was a real rustic feel about the place. The windows opened to a narrow street below, but we mainly kept them closed as the air conditioning was on (it was great quality and kept the place very cool) When it was time to leave, they looked after our bags for the day, so we could visit the beach before getting our flights home. A special note for the king size bed in there... It was huge, and a nice comfy sleep!
