Ximenes 12 Appartamenti

This B&B has a strategic location, directly in the historical center. It's a 5 min walk from the port and from the bus stations where buses to the airport, San Vito Lo Capo Beach and the public buses go from! The room is clean and sunny and the sheets and towels were changed every two days. Staff is very friendly and helpful! The breakfast offered was in a nearby caffe "Bar Piccadilly"- 3 min walk- and was super tasty and fresh! It consisted of a drink of choice (espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato etc...) and either sweet (croissant and other sweets with different fillings) or salty (different sandwiches with salami or prosciutto or martadella etc..) sandwiches of your choice. It was the best breakfast! Highly recommend this B&B!!!

We stayed in Ximenes 12 (after booking online) for one night. We took a taxi from the airport into Trapani as it was after 9pm (just over 30 euros). Ximenes 12 is located just off Vitorrio Emanuele (the main thoroughfare of the of the old town) on Via Ximenes. The cathedral is literally on the doorstep so if you're the kind of person who gets annoyed by church bells, don't stay here. If you appreciate being in an apartment in an ancient building in the heart of an old town, look into this place. The reception is not 24 hours, and we had to call the owner but he arrived within 10 mins. (A mobile number is on the door). There is no lift in the building and the rooms are three flights up, so be aware of this. Our apartment, for one night, was more than adequate. It was large and clean, with a very comfortable bed, and an en-suite that was also very clean. There was a small fridge and wi-fi was available too, with a good connection. The hotel is very close to good bars and restaurants and really conveniently located for the port. If you are travelling on, the owners also own Egatours on the port road where you can buy ferry tickets to Favignana & the islands and also bus tickets to the airport. You can also store luggage in a secure lock-up (3 euros per item). All in all, a good find for a quick stop-over in Trapani.

For me location and cleanliness are paramount and this room in an old house was both of these. IT was just off one of the main shopping streets and very convenient to the port and bus stop. The main room has been recently decorated and the bedding was all fresh and plenty of towels provided. The bathroom was little dated but a good size. As we were visiting at the end of April (out of season) we managed to get a good price for the room, we didn't take the breakfasst option and I think that this place offered excellent value for money. It was a little noisy in the morning with other guests leaving and it is right next to the Cathedral so the bells start ringing at about 8.00am but this is all to be expected. I would stay here again and I would recommend it to friends.
