Walther von der Vogelweide

I stayed 5 nights at this establishment, alone with my dog. It is a very beautiful hotel, with real positive points: the establishment is clean, the housekeeping is done very well, the bedding is comfortable, the dining is good, and the location is pleasant. On these aspects, nothing to complain about. On the other hand, I was very disappointed by the reception and the sense of service. If you do not speak Italian, expect to encounter difficulties: English is very poorly mastered and exchanges are extremely brief. Upon my arrival, I was not even correctly shown where the garage was; it is actually quite difficult here to find a relatively hidden car. I had to manage it all by myself. Another problem encountered during my stay: I had ants in my room, which invaded a bag of my dog's kibble. I therefore lost about 2 kg of food. When I reported the problem to the front desk and asked to change rooms, I was indeed offered another room, but without a real apology or consideration for the inconvenience. The simple answer was: "Oh yes, there are often ants here." Which, honestly, is not really reassuring. More generally, as soon as I spoke to the staff in English, I clearly had the impression of bothering them. I absolutely do not expect an Italian hotel to speak French: however, in an establishment of this standing, a minimum of English and especially a minimum of willingness to communicate with guests seem to me to be the basics. Finally, at the time of my departure, no one asked me to comment on how my stay went. It is I who had to spontaneously point out that I was disappointed, recall the problem of the lost kibble, and explain that the reception had not been up to par. No commercial gesture was offered to me, even symbolically. The only answer was, in substance: "That's a shame." Then goodbye. It's really a shame, because the hotel has many assets: a very beautiful establishment, clean, good dining, good bedding, and a good location. But the reception and the quality of service unfortunately make a big difference in the overall experience. For my part, I do not recommend this hotel, especially regarding the price asked, which I find clearly too high compared to the quality of service and the experience had.

I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant Walther von der Vogelweide in Chiusa, and I must say it was a fantastic experience! The dishes are of excellent quality, prepared with fresh ingredients and presented impeccably; every bite was a joy for the palate. The cleanliness of the establishment is very meticulous, making the environment welcoming and pleasant. The staff was extremely polite and courteous, always available to provide recommendations on the dishes and to make our visit even more enjoyable. Another advantage is the presence of nearby parking, which makes access to the restaurant very convenient. We were also fortunate to dine on the beautiful terrace, which offers a relaxing and charming atmosphere. It is also an ideal place for families, with menu options suitable for everyone. I highly recommend visiting Walther von der Vogelweide: a restaurant that manages to combine excellent service with great cuisine!

A lovely hotel in the old town near the river. Chiusa is a small place but the hotel was in a great location for whatever you needed. You should be aware that there is no local taxi service so you will have to walk to and from the train station if you are not arriving by car (about 10 minutes but an easy, pleasant walk, even with my oversized suitcase). There was a great choice for breakfast and they have their own restaurant on site with good food at a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was very spacious and comfortable. There are also local buses if you want to explore other locations - I did a day trip to Ortisei, which I highly recommend.
