My wife and I stopped for lunch at this restaurant in Riva del Garda, with a lake view and near the harbor, attracted by the medium/low prices and the menu offerings. We ate a bruschetta appetizer, spaghetti 🍝 with seafood, grilled whitefish with potatoes, a liter of house white wine 🍷, a bottle of still water, two apple strudels, and two coffees!! The food is very good, as is the wine, with fair prices!! The service is a bit disappointing and slow! There isn't a waiter with a smile; they conveyed so much coldness and indifference toward the customer!! Price 78 €.

Simple hotel, but Rivas best location and extremely nice service. The hotel had everything the most important, clean rooms with new towel every day, good pressure in the shower and good breakfast. They had good gluten-free alternatives. If you get room to the sea the view is actually.

Book a room with a view you wont be disappointed, small warning though if you are overlooking the square expect some entertainment going on at weekends. We found the entertainment stopped around 10:30 ish, and the chatter and music from the restaurants was easily muted by simply closing the windows and drawing the heavy curtains. The rooms are a little basic, no tea / coffee making, or fridge in ours, furniture etc was a little dated. However we don't go on holiday to sit in the room, so for us it was fine, but don't expect it to be plush. The town had a pleasant laid back atmosphere and wasn't as packed as some of the others around the lake. Lots of cafe's and restaurants, we checked out one or two, but we had booked half board and after trying the hotels cuisine we found it to be a good standard, try out the sliced meats and local wines, amazing. Treat the staff politely , try out a little Italian, even if it's just asking for a beer and the bill and you will find the staff and locals will warm to you. Do the cable car, the views are worth it. Do at least one boat trip, we used the yellow "Speedy gonzales" boats to visit Limone and Malcasine, 25 Euro's each, but you got a 2 hour stop in both towns and trip was 11am to 5pm perfectly fitting in a day. But you could also take a ferry over to Limone for 12 Euro's per person return. I expect we paid above average for food and drinks due to location, but It was expected, at the time of our visit, a beer was 6 Euro's, wine 3 Euro's and a main coures between 14 - 23 Euro's depending on where you ate and what you ordered. All in all we would go back.... enjoy!
