In a panoramic position between Ortisei and broken castle. We (family of three) stayed in the apartment "seceda", large and comfortable. After the full balance you will receive instructions for self check in and access to the chalet (a pdf papyrus of 39 pages...). All a bit cumbersome, not exactly immediate, but in the end, after some swearing, between photos and codes, we succeed in everything. The equipment of the apartment is minimal (to make it clear: damage supplied broom, vacuum cleaner hose, a roll of toilet paper and just a couple of tabs for the dishwasher with a sponge for dishes ... not even a hygiene product or a sponge for the bathroom, you really need to get everything). But apart from that, on which you can overlook, what left us more perplexed was the cleanliness in which we found the apartment: quite superficial, complete with dirty sheets.... This, together with the complete lack of human relationship, makes us say that we would not return to this property and would not recommend it.

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment here. Spacious, airy, nice apartment but one bathroom amongst 5 of us required some juggling! The toaster has a plug that does not fit the sockets, which is weird. As it happens we had a universal adapter and it doesn't work anyway. The main downside is that the Chalet is on the North-facing slope so it gets no sun in the winter unless you want to sit at the back where you get no view. This also has the effect that the small road to the chalet can get treacherous - there was black ice on it while we were there. Winterised tyres are recommended as the main road will often be clear of snow/ice when the little road to the chalet is not, and you don't want to be putting on and taking off chains for 500 metres of road! The upside, of course, is that the chalet is relatively inexpensive.

We stayed at the "Langkofel" apartment of "Chalet Alpina" for seven nights with two very small kids during a skiing holiday.
Pros:
- spacious, clean, and warm apartment; comfortably fits a family of four
- quiet location
- reasonably fast internet
- nice view over the valley
Cons:
- getting there: we arrived from Bolzano via bus and were given incorrect directions; we were told to change bus at St. Ulrich, when the first bus from Bolzano would have allowed us to get of at the required stop
- the location given on the mobile version of google maps is incorrect
- so, after getting off the bus we walked in the wrong direction; when the Chalet's rep caught up with us in his car, he wouldn't offer us a lift, even though we had lots of bagage, two small kids, and skis. I had to ask him twice for assistance and finally he helped us. He told us that people usually come with their Mercedes or BMW, not realizing that this mode of travel does, of course, contribute to the climate catastrophe, which will rid a ski resort like St. Ulrich of its economic basis.
- getting to the ski lift: guests in St. Ulrich are supposed to receive a free skibus ticket from their residence. We didn't know about this and didn't receive such a ticket on our arrival.
- the website states that the kitchen is "fully equipped", but it is in fact very basic. There is no oven, only two stove plates and no consumable supplies (no dishwasher tabs, no oil, no spices, not even salt and pepper). We were told that people bring these things themselves, which seemed unusual to us.
- we had told the residence that another person would arrive a few days later and had received confirmation that this would not incur extra charges. However, the Chalet's rep then suddenly turned around and said that there would be additional costs for the extra person. Just a case of mis-communication probably, but it added to the impression of an unprofessional management.
Overall, the apartment is ok, if you don't plan to do much cooking, if you travel by car, and if you don't expect too much in terms of service, organisation, and hospitality. Given these downsides, it also seems somewhat overpriced and if booking in advance, you can most certainly find a better accomodation.
