We have been coming back to Hotel Schaurhof gladly for several years now. Whether as a stopover while passing through or for a longer stay for hiking. The quiet location near Sterzing is perfect for us as a starting point for diverse activities in this beautiful region. In recent years, the building has been extensively renovated and modernized. The rooms are very clean, well-maintained, and tastefully furnished; in the main building in a traditional style, in the new building very attractive and modern. You sleep very well in comfortable beds. There is a beautiful wellness area with a wonderful view, a heated outdoor pool with a sunbathing lawn, and a playground for the little ones. The culinary offerings deserve special praise. The day begins here with a varied breakfast buffet with high-quality, fresh regional and homemade products. In the evening, a delicious 3-course menu is served. Nice traditional cuisine with Mediterranean influences - a real treat for the palate! The service throughout the entire building is professional, the staff very friendly, attentive, and helpful. We feel very comfortable in this very warm, family-run hotel and look forward to coming back again 🙂

Beautiful hotel 3 min from the center of Vipiteno, the location allows you to find tranquility (you can't hear the nearby railway!) while enjoying time in the pool; for children there is also a small playground (as well as two indoor playrooms). New and beautiful rooms, clean and in Tyrolean style with gorgeous wood. Excellent dinner and rich breakfast buffet. Possibility to rent towels for the pool.

I have been frequenting this typical restaurant for many years during the period when I am on vacation but unfortunately it is no longer what it used to be, the quality of the raw materials and the care of the dishes is very disappointing, some dishes like the local roast lamb is not even comparable to what it was until last year! From an excellent dish that pushed me to return to enjoy it, it has been reduced to a low-category company cafeteria dish (inadequate cooking of the lamb, almost raw, with a side of polenta that was once firm and grilled in slices in a superlative way, now a simple ladle of lumpy and poorly cooked polenta!) big disappointment also the strudel with a dough that is neither shortcrust nor puff pastry but a kind of sweet bread and, by the way, heated in the microwave which makes it soggy and with a scalding filling!! Too bad because it was a good restaurant with country cooking that I would have recommended to anyone but by now I don't think it's worth coming to a place so out of the way and without any view to, on top of that, eat badly!!
