Hotel Bacco

9 days between vacation and work with my partner. As an artist, I could not have chosen a better hotel. (Piano available). The hotel is a small, well-kept paradise for those who want to spend a relaxing period (even if that was not my case :-)). Very kind, nice, and friendly staff. The owner? A real "character" where, beyond the inevitable "solitaire," the history of someone who lived through the best years traveling the world shines through, and whom time has left a real mark on. It is not just a question of age, but of experience, with crazy stories to be told and seen. Perhaps it is the world that came to him. :-) Fantastic the possibility of deciding at the last moment whether to have lunch or dinner. What can I say, between one appointment and another, between one event and another, returning to Bacco meant... PEACE. Best regards, Beppe

Thanks a lot. It was a strange vacation. A vacation that wasn't even supposed to happen. Unpleasant things happened that, alas, happen in life and then, by mistake or by fate, lead us to make choices almost at random. But perhaps they aren't so random, because they end up shaping our life, making it something unique, and leading us to have beautiful experiences. Only beautiful ones?? Nooooo… BEAUTIFUUUUL. Because even without knowing anything about us, our life, and our sorrows, you welcomed us in a special way and gave us a beautiful mini summer. Was everything perfect??? Well, of course not. The room cleaning, for example, a bit too rushed. And that tuna pasta… it was dry pasta, yes, but really DRY. 😂 But, apart from that culinary incident, spectacular dinners and everything else always top-notch. And then, do we want to talk about that rat 🐀 that was flying over our heads while we were having dinner on the outdoor veranda??? Panic among Lola and a good portion of the diners. I, on the other hand, found it wonderful. 😂 But then again, I am a Carabinieri Brigadier and I have always had to deal with rats… a phrase that perhaps lends itself to a few too many interpretations, so it's better to move on. 😂 And now we come to them. The waiters. All of them. None excluded, let that be clear. Silvia, the daughter of a colleague of mine whom I don't even know, whom we found ourselves there being served by due to some strange twist of fate. And to whom, like a good rock-and-roll father, I couldn't resist whispering in her ear: “Study, because it’s worth it. After all, with a neuropsychologist pest in the family, it makes sense. 😜 Cristian, alias “Pa’ Pa’ Ra’”, as Sala’ called him… probably because he wouldn't shut up for a second. 😂. And then Maurizio, the handsome guy with blue eyes. He wasn't at our table much, it's true, but he's a good person too, and in the end that's what counts. But then there’s Sala’. Sala’ was something different. I don't even know how to explain the connection that was created well. Never seen anything like it. On the evening of Ferragosto, he comes out with the cake. He starts singing something that by now I don't even remember... and then, suddenly:” Mandi… mandi… mandi…”: And right there, chills. Because he had understood that that word was ours. A Friulian word that for us isn't simply a "hello." I have always felt it as "I leave you in God's hands." And hearing it sung there by Sala’, during a vacation that wasn't even supposed to exist, well... Truly chilling. And to think that someone like me, who is even an atheist, says that. ❤️Then there's Massimo. 85? years old. The "OWNER" of the hotel. A unique and omnipresent person. Actually, you don't even need to see him to know he's there: you walk in and smell the scent of his cigar. 😂 At the entrance. In defiance of bans, regulations, and a good part of Italian legislation. But what are you going to say to a man who has hosted Cossiga, Bruce Springsteen, Ornella Muti, Venditti, Alberto Sordi, and who knows how many others in his hotel? “Massimo, look, you can't smoke here”?Yeah, right. 😂 Massimo smokes a cigar. Period. And then the hotel itself. Hundreds of paintings. Works of art. Many. So many. But there is one, on the stairs, that will remain in our memory forever. The portrait of Massimo, together with his family. Lola looks at it... and she's off. Because the Massimo in the painting has crossed eyes. 😂😂😂 And when Lola starts laughing, I'm done for. So imagine the two of us on the stairs, in front of all those works of art, unable to maintain a shred of dignity while Massimo, from the painting, was probably managing to look at both of us at the same time. 😂. And since Massimo heard us, I hope with all my ♥️ that he understood the reason, and if he didn't understand it, now he knows. And finally the receptionists. Very good, eh. All of them??? Well, of course not. The one from this morning??? (Massimo's daughter). Prrrrrrrrrr! 😜 What a lousy discount you gave me!!! 😂 Come on, joking aside. I could and should write thousands more things. But in the end, what we will take with us will not be a room, a dinner, or a hotel. It will be the people. Because you managed, without knowing anything about us and without knowing the reason why we arrived there, to give us something that perhaps at that moment we needed more than you could imagine: a beautiful mini summer. And above all, thanks to Sala’ and to that whole wonderful group of waiters. No one excluded. Sooner or later a package will arrive for you. And inside there will be a Sbilf. So a little piece of our Friuli will stay there with you too. Mandi… mandi… mandi. ❤️ ….. That is written in the very eyes of Angel & Lola

I stayed at this hotel in mid-July 2026 and, unfortunately, my experience was decidedly negative. The rooms are small and rather dated. The food also disappointed me: mediocre quality and little variety. Furthermore, the pool was cloudy and certainly did not give an impression of cleanliness. As if that were not enough, while guests were quietly lying on the lounge chairs, the staff was mowing the lawn, creating noise and discomfort. Another aspect that bothered me was the lack of consistency in the application of the rules. I was reprimanded by the owner because I was playing with a ball in the pool, but the next day other kids were doing the same thing without anyone intervening. Finally, the no-smoking policy is not enforced: people were even smoking in the hotel lobby. Overall, it was a truly disappointing experience that I cannot recommend.
