Il Chiassetto

We stayed as a family of 4 adults and two children here last summer. We loved the place it’s secluded from the fast pace of the city and even the local village is a short drive. The pool was excellent with plenty of space for guests. Pontedera train station is close by so you can travel easily to Florence or Pisa without a car but you would need a car for the trips to and from the hotel. The room itself because of the amount of attractions was adequate as we mainly used it to sleep with the impeccable weather meaning we spent much time outside.

We just got home from our stay at Il Chiassetto, and we are already ready to go back! We had the most amazing time staying there. The location is just breathtaking with the cornfields and the mountains in the horisont, and the house is absolutely charming. The hosts Veronica and Graziella are very kind and helpful, and you feel at home the moment you arrive. Thank you so much for a wonderful time. We look forward to coming back. The place is setup in a very quiet and peaceful area. We drove from Pisa airport and it was pretty easy to find. Good points: - very nice location - Good size room (we had a family room, with a king size bed and a bunk bed for our 2 kids) - well socked kitchen (there is a fridge and a gas cooker along with plenty of ) pots and pans - very nice pool - plenty of parking - very friendly and helpful owner; the owner's daughter Veronica spoke very good English and recommended nearby facilities such as restaurants, supermarket and even gave useful tips on parking and places to visit in Pisa and Florence. Bad points: - there is no restaurant or dining facility, it's self catering only! - there is air-conditioning but it costs extra - the most nearby restaurant is about 5 miles away; we went to a village called Buti (recommended by Veronica). Very good restaurants but the 5 mile drive is pretty tough given the narrow, hilly and dark roads. Finding parking in Buti is pretty difficult too! - no TV in the room (at least ours didn't have any). Good job we took our own tablet PC. - Wi-fi is only available from the front of the reception. I would definitely recommend the place, but beware of the above downsides!
