Excellent location close to local restaurants and a few shops; and a step across the road to the station. Despite its position, it wasn't too noisy, and we were pleased to be able to get the local train into central Florence and arrive within 20 minutes.
Hotel is pleasant enough with a nice reception, a small lift, and a good sized breakfast room. Wifi good in reception area, not in the bedroom.
Plenty of fresh white towels, and complimentary toiletries. The bathroom fittings need modernisation, but they worked well enough. A big bed and new looking basic carpeting. Good curtains that blacked out at night. Nice tall window and high ceiling. We liked the room.
Breakfast was adequate and nicely set out. Some cheese, ham, yogurts, bread and cakes. Enough, but not a banquet. Awful coffee from a machine. Dishes not cleared fast enough and then left higgledy-piggledy on the counter to await washing up.
Staff were very nice and pleasant although we did not have the feeling of being guests. More like lodgers.
However, we enjoyed our stay in this laid back hotel. We might stay again if the nearby newer hotel is fully booked!

The rooms are danky with 1970's carpet. Moldy bathrooms, cobwebs,
The lobby is somewhat redone. My kids thought this place was spooked. The wifi did not work, in the lobby, in the room, anywhere. The guy at the desk shrugged in response. The bathroom was 1970's and the door would not close if you were on the old pot! The fridge did not work. The breakfast was 6 day old croissants burnt when reheated, rotten cardboard apples....The onyl thing that worked in the room was the airconditioning. We did everythign to avoid going back to our room in the evening. Its right behind the train stop and on the main road- convenient yet annoying.

When I first arrived at Hotel Baccio, I thought it was awful. The staff seemed rude, I was constantly getting locked out, and the room was just ok. However, by the end of my stay (5 weeks as I was studying abroad in the area), it was a great place. Lorenzo is an amazing person who was more than happy to help with whatever I needed. His willingness to assist carried over to the other front desk staff. They never failed to assist with needs from additional toilet paper to changing rooms because an A/C unit quit working.
The rooms are simple but always clean. The hotel itself is a bit old but does the job perfectly well. Location is awesome, between the train station and town center, making it convenient to get around. Wifi was available in the room upon my departure (was not available in the rooms but was in the lobby/lounge area when I arrived). Breakfast is available as well for a small fee.
