Stella Marina Hotel Club

We have been returning to Hotel Stella Marina for several years now, especially since my in-laws from Naples joined us, and it is always a guarantee. ​The strong points are truly many: ​Unbeatable location: It is located right on the seafront. You just have to leave the hotel, cross the street, and you are immediately on the beach. ​Accessibility: The hotel is very well organized for people with disabilities, a fundamental detail for us. ​Included services and comfort: The stay includes a beach umbrella with lounge chairs and access to the pool. Plus, there is the convenience of parking. ​Cleanliness and Dining: The rooms and common areas are always very clean and the food is definitely good, starting with the abundant breakfast in the morning. ​Pet Friendly Hospitality: They gladly accept well-behaved pets. It is fantastic to be able to bring your dog to the beach with you (respecting the swimming hours) and take long walks in the surrounding area. ​A special round of applause goes to the entire staff: from the breakfast staff to the lunch and dinner staff, from the guys at the bar to the lifeguards on the beach. Everyone is always extremely kind, helpful, and smiling. ​We have always had a great time and will definitely continue to return!

We returned to Marina di Cecina to this hotel because we had a good experience last year, even if it was during a different time of the summer. The accommodation in a spacious room, with a side view of the sea, was excellent. The cuisine let us taste a variety of very tasty dishes accompanied by excellent local wines. The welcome and availability of the beach club staff were always prompt. We also appreciated the courtesy of the ladies at the reception, in particular the kindness of the owner, Mrs. Laura, who always tried to accommodate our requests. The dining room and bar staff were very kind and professional, like the waiter Kristian who served us dinner for 10 days and commented on the various courses with big smiles, revealing his prospects as a new graduate of the Hotel Institute. But Stella Marina is something else: seeing a guest again whom we met last year, Mrs. A., who told us, one evening, about her unique life experience, and who returns every year for the whole summer; or witnessing on the beach the attention paid by the lifeguards to disabled people, who are taken to the sea on a cart with huge yellow floating wheels; or even appreciating a beautiful sunset from the room balcony ... Attention: my 1-star review is not intended in any way to diminish the great kindness of the hotel restaurant staff, the only element capable of softening the bad experience at this facility. But let's get to the point: I stayed at the Hotel Stella Marina for two weeks in August, together with my parents. From the second day, however, a vacation that was supposed to be relaxing turned into a source of exhausting stress. The reason? The guests in the neighboring room, that is, a couple without children (I specify this, because if it had been babies, groups of teenagers, or elderly people I could have at least understood a bit of noise), with absolutely disrespectful behavior since they were making noise from morning until night and, consequently, the way in which our significant distress was handled by the reception. Let me explain better: right from the start we noticed that our neighbors had the habit of returning to the hotel at one-thirty/two in the morning, slamming doors, shouting in the hallways, and making their dog bark. As if that weren't enough, once they returned to their room they spent at least a couple of hours at night yelling at each other and swearing (I specify this because, even if my family is not particularly religious, I consider this detail very serious for anyone), so we were forced to hear the same "music" for many nights, with no way out. Some nights they argued so violently that I feared they might physically hurt each other. I must admit that I felt like a hostage to these people. For almost a week we endured in silence, clinging to the hope that the situation might resolve itself spontaneously. But that was not the case and, driven by exasperation, we brought the problem to the attention of the reception, kindly asking if a room change was possible. However, we were told that it was not possible and given a generic "don't worry, we will take care of calling them." Needless to say, the guests persisted in their disrespectful behavior, disturbing or even hindering our sleep for most of the stay. In the days following our report, the reception staff did not even bother to ask us if everything was okay, or if the situation had improved. It's a shame because otherwise there were no major critical issues (if we want to turn a blind eye to the rooms with outdated furniture and the dining service with no option to choose dishes, full of salt and butter), but for my next vacations I will certainly spend my money where guests are all treated the same way and when a major problem is reported, everything possible is done to intervene and resolve it. Never again.
