Villa Schiatti

The property is up on a hill and is absolutely beautiful. The restaurant food is good and the staff had lots of recommendations for other eateries in the area. OMG - the staff! THEY ARE AMAZING!!. They booked our cooking classes, restaurant reservations, and helped in absolutely every way possible. The reception staff kept an informational sheet at the desk and always knew where we were going + gave us reminders. They made everything 100-times better. They became our friends. Thank you Eva, Frederica, Laura, Milla, Sveta, Alan, Vanda & all the staff behind the scenes. An excellent, quiet location in the Tuscan hills to relax and visit towns off the beaten path (Cortona & Arezzo). The best place we've stayed in 30 years of traveling.

We have been to Italy on multiple vacations. All were fantastic, but I have to say our vacation at Villa Schiatti thru Edible Destinations was above any vacation we have ever done. The Villa is a beautiful old style constructed building that is beautiful and relaxing to be around. The scenery traveling to and around the Villa is simply stunning. It is owned and run by a Husband and wife, ( Alleen & Lauara ) that are exceptional hosts along with an incredible staff that make your stay so enjoyable you'll not want to leave. Every morning breakfast was provided with a buffet of elegant Italian pastries , fruits, meats, cheeses with nothing really left out. We went on mini tours daily guided by Aleen who is an expert Sommelier. We visited different wineries and Aleen would provide his extensive knowledge of wine making, which is incredible, btw. We visited cheese a farm, a Truffle farm and surrounding historical cities and on two days returned to the Villa for culinary classes, where what we learned and made in class would be served that evening for dinner. The classes were directed by Aleen, who apparently is quite the culinary expert also. The two classes were a huge hit for myself and my wife and we will make the recipes learned as a reminder of the trip. Each night ends with a 4 course dinner for the group, if weather is clear , is served on a beautiful terrace that overlooks the unbelievable gorgeous Tuscany valley, The dinners are amazing as each course is paired with a different wine, which Aleen goes into detail on teaching the group how to pair wines with what foods. Everyone in our group were fantastic people and had a great time hanging out. We will definitely return in a future vacation. If you want to experience Tuscany and experience so many things in a relaxed way this is a must. Thank you to everyone at Villa Schiatti for an unforgettable memory!!!

This is a tour not to be missed. Driving to the villa the scenery is beautiful. When we arrived everyone came out to welcome us and toast with Prosecco. We were shown around the villa lots of rooms a pool ,cooking areas, patios and dining areas. The bedrooms are large and open up to views of Tuscany. Aileen was so interesting having several careers before running the villa with his wife ,cooks and staff. Everyday was a new adventure . We visited many towns in Tuscany with our personal guide . Nice not to have to pack up each day ,instead we travelled back and forth to the villa . We saw many wineries and sampled wine as early as 10 Am ! We visited a cheese farm,Siena and several smaller towns in the area. We had two great cooking classes with Prosecco but the staff was totally prepared to teach us lots of Italian foods. Each night we had a wonderful four course dinner with wine that is produced from their vineyard. The week just flew by and I would have been happy to stay on just to enjoy the beautiful Villa and grounds .We hope to return again . The staff sent us all the recipes so we have no excuse to not practice what we learned .
