Villa Marsili

Such a lovely hotel. Staff and owners just so kind and helpful. Couldn’t do enough for you. We missed our transport to a local venue one evening and the owner drove us there. So kind. Bedroom and whole hotel comfortable, beautiful and charming. Breakfast superb.

A small luxurious hotel, steeped in tradition and accommodation. the staff and management went way out of their way to take care of us and our changing plans and circumstances. I would wake in the morning to a Tuscan breeze from our open window. At first light, the hills below with a view forever remembered. Quiet but for distant church bells. The breakfasts were beyond our imagination, so many culinary delights all hand crafted. Service and comfort beyond anything I could have hoped for. Mary and I found walking to town and attractions easy and convenient. The rooms and baths were the definition of luxury, spotless, soft and comforting. The public areas and information were intimate and inviting. I will miss the treats and aperitifs. I am embarrassed of my Italian, but communication was easy and always with a smile. The hotel is located in a scenic position just outside the center of Cortona with a view that extends beyond Lake Trasimeno. We visited for the first time in 2024, and for us, it has become, along with Cortona, one of those cherished places we return to regularly. The location, an old historic villa, certainly has a particular charm, and the breakfast buffet is extremely rich and well-curated: it ranges from high-quality cheeses and hot dishes prepared by a skilled chef to pastries. However, I believe that what made us fall in love with this hotel is the harmony that prevails among the staff, making guests feel more like hosts rather than customers. This would not be possible without capable staff, but it is also thanks to the management.
