I had a wonderful stay at the Antica Dimora Johlea. I had a single room, but it was beautifully appointed, with a four-poster bed and a high window, and simple lovely furniture. Daniele and Alessia are wonderful hosts, very friendly, and always available to help. The hotel has up-to-date amenities, including wi-fi, but as a whole it also has the charm of an old-fashioned pensione, with open areas for conversation and eating on the second floor (they even provide plates and silverware if you want to bring home take-out), and a roof-terrace above with a great view of Florence. It’s in a quiet part of the city, removed from the crowds, but still inside the old city walls—it’s only 15-20 minutes walk to the city center (including the San Lorenzo market, the Piazza del Duomo, and the Piazza della Signoria). I would return readily.

Tekeela

Having stayed at the Antica Dimora Johlea some time ago, we were delighted to see that it is still as comfortable and charming as ever. Our room was perfectly laid out and well looked after it being cleaned every day. The roof terrace was a favorite place on which to relax. We were given very useful information on delightful places to eat locally and also venues of interest in various parts of Florence. The Antica is situated in a quiet part of town but not far from the centre. We are already planning another visit !!

LADAHOLS

Don’t be put off by the entrance hall and small lift, this is a well run, very good value accommodation close to San Marco and walking distance to all major sites in central Florence. There’s a roof terrace and honesty bar. You could cook for yourself too. Comfortable bed and very clean.
