Casa Rovai Guest House

We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful guest house. We had initially booked another property which had electrical problems the day we arrived, but the new proprietor (Brian), was able to relocate us to his other property Casa Rovai. He transferred us by car between the properties and also drove us to the bus station on day of departure so we were not inconvenienced by the slight increase in distance. In the end we decided we preferred the charm of Casa Rovai . It was very centrally located, easy walking to the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio and a host of wonderful restaurants. The breakfast provided was varied and plentiful. The room we stayed in was beautiful with frescoes on the ceiling and walls. But most of all the care and kindness of our host Brian was what stood out. He really cares about his guests and loves his job and you can tell. I recommend Casa Rovai to anyone considering a stay in Florence!

Rented for 5 days, 1st night: cockroaches in the bathroom and bed bugs. Bitten all night despite our pajamas. Asked for a refund for the other nights, categorical refusal, no negotiations, positive point in the center. Left, hoping we didn't bring these little critters in our luggage..

Great location in the center a few steps from the Duomo, Santa Croce and Palazzo Pitti, cozy environment with quiet and clean rooms, carefully furnished and with frescoed ceilings, We also found friendly and helpful staff!
