It was a last-minute change in plan to stay in Florence instead of Rome for the new year. We were lucky to find this hotel near Santa Maria Novella train station for less than what the other hotels were asking for. Our room is one of the rooms that have a private bathroom. The room tends to get chilly at night despite having the heater on. An important point to note that the hotel is on the third floor & the building does not have an elevator. You will have to carry your bags up on your own.

I regularly booked a room of this hotel three days before through expedia. At the time of the check in the lady told me that she "hadn't received the booking" and there were no more rooms available. Luckily I went there early and still had the time to find another room at a similar price. But what if I checked in in the evening and couldn't find anything anymore at a reasonable price? Or if it was high season and all Florence was fully booked? Be very careful when booking this hotel.

As the other reviews mention, the place is on the third floor, so lots of stairs, but other than the location was great. It's a two minute walk from the train station, and the Mercato Centrale and about a 10 minute walk from the Duomo. The room was small but comfortable and it had a sink, which is a plus for me when I stay somewhere with a shared bathroom. The shared bathroom was kept clean at all times. Wifi is charged extra but works well.
