Hotel Kraft

Amazing hotel!!! Very clean, well organized,and helpful staff. Roberto who greeted us every morning for breakfast was the best. He was friendly, funny and made us feel welcomed every day!!!

Staff: Incredibly unfriendly check-in, almost hostile. The only people who smiled in this hotel were the ladies in housekeeping. Bar staff grumpy, front desk staff grumpy, no “welcome” when entering the hotel from a hot day. In all of our comings and goings over four days we were greeted once when passing through the lobby. I sent two emails while there, they never responded. Addressed this at the end of my stay, and they basically laughed it off. Room: Great linens. Tired shower with moldy tile. The toilet kept running so you had to keep tapping the button. AC was mediocre. Powdered coffee and a water kettle- ridiculous for a hotel of this caliber. Facilities: It’s great that they have an elevator, but it’s misleading because once you get out of the elevator, you have to drag your luggage down a flight of stairs to get to your room. The elevator door jammed and wouldn’t open for about ten minutes- that was fun. Pool water was incredibly cloudy with stuff floating in it. Needs to be filtered and cleaned. Pool drinks are NYC prices. Location: If you like walking out your hotel, and seeing refugees sleeping on the benches, then you may think it’s a great area. It’s an annoying distance, where it seems close to the center, but it still is a 20 min walk in the heat. Highly recommend crossing over the river (breeze), where there’s better restaurants/bars. But still, it’s not as close as it seems. There is a great pub down the street but besides that, it’s ethnic food and overpriced tourist traps. The restaurant the hotel recommended (Il Volo) was the most expensive one we went to over our 3 week trip. Parking: They will advertise free parking for the summer then when you get there it is “full” and it’s 35 euros a day to park elsewhere (literally the parking was the only reason we stayed here). When I checked out, they said you had to book direct, but I showed them their website that didn’t say it was exclusively for direct bookings. When I checked in, why did they tell me it was full, rather than just tell me that? Street parking is 99% reserved for residents. I hate feeling scammed. If the hotel was exceptional in other areas, I would be ok with the extra 105 euros, but it was mediocre at best. Have been traveling for 3 weeks and this was the worst experience, it really put a damper on our trip. If you’re from the US, please stay elsewhere, as every other place has been warm, friendly, honest, and helpful, and I promise there is a better option out there.

I have know Hotel Kraft for more then 30 years. It is an absolutely excellent hotel in each and every aspect.
