We stayed for a couple of weeks at this lovely place. It is delightful, beautifully equipped, lovely beds and linen, washing machine, dishwasher, great kitchen and peaceful location. Everything is good quality. The weather was hot but the house was cool. It is in a traditional italian style, with gorgeous gardens of mature trees and bushes. The owners Alberto and Donatella are kind and generous people, welcoming and helpful. They live on the opposite side of the apartment, but there is absolute privacy. We had our dog with us and we left him in an enclosed part of the garden and both Alberto and his wife welcome pets. The location is rural, and towards the top of a steep incline. There are lovely views. There is a village with buses to Florence nearby and a little shop that sells everything. If you are looking for a genuine experience of Italy and Tuscany, you will love staying here.

Three years ago my husband and I discovered La Pietra Grezza online. We rented the Lilac apartment on the top floor and fell in love with the location. The view was outstanding, the rooms were spacious and clean. Alberto was gracious and helpful. I felt like I was "at home". This September, we stayed for a month, and explored more of the spectacular Tuscan countryside. Alberto's wife, Donatella, was very helpful and friendly. We would strongly recommend a stay there for an authentic Tuscan experience. You are minutes from a supermarket and restaurants. Florence is a short drive away and is a must see. Property- we stayed in the 2-bedroom apt of a 3-storey old house ( 6 nights in June 2012); it was peaceful & quiet, perched near a hill top. Woke up to birds chirping and lots of greenery in the area, great view of the Tuscan valley. The rooms were well maintained and clean, spacious lounge & kitchen. Shower door needs replacement. Location- excellent base to explore the surrounding small Tuscan towns; you need a car for this, very easy to drive to The Mall, Space & all the other outlets. Can also catch a direct bus to Florence at the bottom of the hill. Driving up the hill slope takes some getting use to, but it was quite easy after the first two days. Host- Alberto was a friendly & helpful host. He provided all the maps of the area & did a nice breakfast for a small fee. His homemade jam is good! As he lived on the ground floor apt, he was always available if anything needed doing. This is an excellent place to stay at for exploring the Tuscan area. We were a group of 4 city ladies and we felt safe staying in La Pietra Grezza.
