Michelangelo Guest House

The hotel is basically an apartment in a residential building that was converted for renting out the rooms. It's on the third floor and there is no elevator. However, b/c of all this you get the feeling you are living in Florence, and not just visiting. The view at the back is wonderful, a hill full of olive trees. It felt good to come to this place after suffering the crowds and the heat in the center of Florence. The room is clean. Breakfast good enough, since there is no kitchen they bring food from outside I think. The girl that takes care of the place, Tamara, is very very friendly, easy to talk to, super nice. The place is close to the center, maybe 15 minutes walking distance to Ponte Vecchio, the famous bridge. On the way you can stop at a restaurant on the river bank, it's called Easy Life, something like that. This place is amazing, it doesn't look it but food and drinks are really really good. If you go there at 7 pm they do aperitivo where they serve food in big bowls and you can help yourself as long as you buy a drink. At 8:30 they have dinner, and OMG everything we tried was amazing. Locals come so you can feel how they live, how Florence is. The place doesn't have its own parking but there is room on the street and it's free.

My daughter and I stayed at Michelangelo Guesthouse for 6 nights at the end of Sept. We were warmly welcomed by Vanni the manager on our arrival and he helped us with our luggage. Our lovely room had a little balcony which overlooked a delightful garden. During our stay Vanni was always available to help us and often went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. All the staff were very caring and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast that was brought to our room every morning. We would highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone wanting to experience beautiful Florence....we just loved it and will definitely return! Thanks again Vanni!!

My wife, I and my two grown up children stayed here for two nights. The rooms are clean and efficient with enough space for 4 people to spend the night. The location is in a quite neighborhood and the guesthouse is actually an apartment. The A/C took sometime to cool the room, other than that the stay was pleasant and safe. The host Vani is very welcoming and helpful, I would have give 5 stars if its was just based on his sincere efforts to tend to our needs and make our visit to florence pleasant. It is 4 stars because of no elevator and the distance to Duomo and other attractions. However, it is in a very quite and safer area off the tourist track, and gas good bus services.
