My wife and I arranged to stay here for three nights in an upgraded room. The location of the hotel and decor of the room was very nice and breakfast staff were amazing. After our first night, I told reception in the morning and again in the afternoon that our air-conditioning was stuck on 26.9 degrees making it very uncomfortable at night. The lady receptionist who was sitting in 21 degrees said she could adjust it there however it may make no difference. The second night no change still 26.9 degrees. Again in the morning complained to the same male receptionist. In the afternoon still no change so complained to the same female receptionist who said it needs the attention of a technical person. Finally offered a fan or a to change of room, as it was our last night we accepted the fan to save moving for one night. To little to late, definitely not a pleasant experience. Roger

The location is a little difficult to find if you don't follow the hotel's emailed instructions. Cars cannot drive to the door so there is about a 50m walk. It is a boutique hotel with Receptino on the second floor. Though accessible by lift there are a few stairs. The corridors are narrow, often filled with the cleaners' gear, but our room was large and absolutely beautifully decorated - a lovely four-poster! And a very generous bathroom. There is not a roof top bar, but there is the opportuity to have a drink overlooking the activity in the Piazza Signoria - endlessly fascinating. Helpful staff and excellent breakfasts.

This hotel felt like a little hidden gem; down a little side alley (next to a wine window no less!) just off the main plaza. The rooms were beautiful and the whole place was very clean. There was a hiccup on arrival when our tour company had booked us into twin room. Once the hotel staff realised it was our honeymoon, they upgraded us free of charge to a lovely attic suite. This made us feel so welcome. If you're in Florence, breakfast overlooking the plaza should not be missed!
