Villa Carlotta

Old hotel that could really get a boost by a proper turn of cleaning and painting. We really liked to stay there, but there are just a lot of things that don't really play. The pool area is not wildly large (it's okay), but neither is wildly clean. There is a bar inside so you can buy drinks. Towels can be borrowed for free. There is no children's pool as stated on hotels.com The rooms are old and need a cleaning in for example chandeliers. That sounds crazy! You can hear everything from the hallway and also other rooms. Breakfast is ok. Could be better, but you can get full. It is about 2 km walk to the historic center. A pleasant walk. Florence is a lovely city.

A nice hotel for your visit to Florence! Parking, pool and large, nice rooms. Totally ok breakfast, and walking distance to the center 👍🏻

I had to give it a 1 because there are no negative numbers. A nightmare. The first room had no air conditioning, and they pretend not to know it. I complained and got a room change with 'apparent' air conditioning. I went out immediately to have dinner downtown, and upon returning, the room was warmer than before. The room was infested with mosquitoes since some genius thought it was a good idea to leave the bathroom windows open. Old and dirty room. Absolutely to be avoided. Needs immediate renovation. Not recommended.
