This former monastery / country house is located on a mountain is somewhat dated because of its history. That doesn't take away from the fact that it's nice to stay here! The view is insanely beautiful! The rooms are big and clean! The staff friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant is good! We would choose to stay here again in this beautiful area and the nostalgic hotel!!!!!

Through our travel agency we were told that the apartment we booked was not available because the apartment complex was not yet open. Alternatively, we were offered Villa Pitiana, according to the travel agency ‘5 star luxury’. The property dates from the year 1000 and has been expanded in the centuries since and has had various destinations and owners. Inside and out are impressive. Beautifully carved ceilings, beautiful courtyards, top terrace with great views. But.... the rooms are very dated and there is something wrong with everything. We had an apartment - we really like to cook ourselves - but with one pan and one skillet (where the Teflon layer was curled up, so DO NOT use) there was nothing to cook. Various floor tiles completely loose, three of the six built-in ceiling spotlights broken, a bathroom so small that you hardly fit together, a toilet on which you are stuck with your knees under the sink, a shower where the water sprays out of the hose in various places and various holes in the walls of the shower, filled with pieces of toilet paper that stuck out. The breakfast buffet: fine, everything amply available. Dinner: severely underwhelming and (by Italian standards) hearty at the price. Example: chicken breast stuffed with chicken liver. Piece of chicken breast of about 10 centimeters, rolled up, put upright and in it a few pieces of chicken liver. This on a totally tasteless bed of pea puree. Price: €21,50 Also once eaten a pizza there, you have to ask explicitly, is not on the menu. One option: Margherita. Quality/taste: reasonable. Furthermore, several other guests asked the question ‘is your room also that bad?’. Staff shall: 100% ok!! Super nice, helpful and good English speaking. Conclusion: had a wonderful week in Tuscany: yesaaaa !!! We recommend Villa Pitiana: nooo !!!

Our tour company booked us here. It is a beautiful villa with gorgeous views. Our bedroom was large, the only complaint is the A/C unit did not work. After seeing the wiring that leads to it, we sure understood why & did not try to use it again. This is a place to stay if you wish to do some small hikes & relax. There is nothing else around here; plan for breakfast & dinner at the villa. Also, pay attention as to how to get to your room or you could roam around for hours.
